New Year's Eve events for DVC members and non-members

Walt Disney World will offer a series of year-end meals and parties, incuding one experience designed exclusively for Disney Vacation Club members.

MK night

On Saturday, December 30, 2017, Disney's Contemporary Resort will host the New Year's Eve Eve Dessert Party.  Located in the Fantasia Lobby and Porte Cochere, the party offers a menu of sweet treats and snacks, along with non-alcoholic beverates.  The Disney-Pixar film "Monsters Inc" provides the theme for the party, with monster-inspired games, character greet opportunities and a selfie station featuring Boo's door.

A prime viewing location for the holiday edition of the Magic Kingdom fireworks completes the experience.

The party runs from 10:00pm until midnight.  The cost is $82.50 per adult and $42.50 per child age 3-9.  Disney Dining Plan credits may not be used and discounts do not apply.

The party is available only to Disney Vacation Club members who are elgible for the Membership Extras program. A DVC member card and photo ID must be presented upon arrival.  Capacity is limited and reservations are available now.  Eligible owners should contact DVC Member Services to book.

Elsewhere, Walt Disney World will offer a variety of other dining and entertainment options to help ring in the new year.  Options include a New Year's Eve Dinner at the World Showplace Pavilion, "Disney Countdown to Midnight" at California Grill and a New Year's Eve "Pixar Party" at the Contemporary.

A New Years Eve party on 12/20, thats odd. And $82.50pp is ridiculous, IMO.

The cost is not that much higher to other Dessert Fireworks parties during the holidays at WDW like the holiday one offered for MVMCP which runs $79 for adults and $47 for Children 3-9. Of course the it requires ticket to the party. This DVC dessert party also has meet and greets with Disney characters. Maybe it is not that out of line in comparison. There is one for the Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert party that gives the same price as the MVMCP. I didn't know those parties had gotten that expensive. Who could possibly eat that much dessert for $79-$83?

They held a similar Independence Day (Eve?) party on July 3 which only cost $35A/$22C. I remember thinking that was a decent rate. Guess Disney heard me. :covermouth:

Am I understanding this correctly? You pay $82.50 to eat pie and drink soda at the CR and watch the fireworks from there? You aren't even in the park?

Well, gotta make up for ESPN being dropped from cable packages as Cable providers try and offer a cheap package to prevent everyone from cutting the cord.
