Disney Vacation Club has always taken a year-to-year approach with this member perk, and it's set to continue into 2018.
Members can continue to enjoy the Top of the World lounge at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort throughout 2018. Originally conceived as a perk exclusive to Bay Lake Tower guests, lounge access was extended to all DVC members staying on-property back in 2012.
The lounge offers a private location for owners to enjoy the nightly Magic Kingdom fireworks, with the option to purchase cocktails and appetizers while visiting. Interior seating is limited and available only on a first-come, first-served basis. However an outdoor viewing deck has room for several hundred guests wishing to view the fireworks presentation.
Lounge access is limited to Disney Vacation Club members (and their traveling party) currently staying at Walt Disney World owned-and-operated resort using points or cash. To gain access, members should check-in at the Bay Lake Tower lobby podium. After presenting a MagicBand and DVC member ID card, the owner's party is escorted to a private elevator to reach the 16th floor lounge.
Blackout dates apply on July 3-4 and December 30-31, 2018. Due to anticipated high demand, only registered guests of Bay Lake Tower can access the lounge on those dates. Approximate nightly operating hours are 6:00pm to midnight.
