On Sunday June 3 Walt Disney World Annual Passes experienced a dramatic price increase. Â However, the Disney Vacation Club discount on Annual Passes also increased and negated most of the upcharge. Â
Certain passes experienced rate increases of over 20% from the pre-June 3 levels but the DVC owner discount on the traditional AP went from $100 to $149 per adult pass and the Premium AP discount from $125 to $140 off. Â
Those purchasing Annual Passes for children under 10 didn't fare quite so well as those passes were essentially eliminted. Â APs for children age 3-9 are now priced identically to passes for adults age 10+. Â

I'm quite happy that our AP costs only went up $6+change each. But I don't understand the increase for a child's AP. The $42.60 amount is hugh increase for a child's AP. I'm glad we were able to warn my DSIL so she could purchase a voucher of my niece's AP before the increase.
I'm still not happy that the children's AP is equal to an adults. I still think Disney needs a new category for children under 42". There are just too many rides small children cannot ride and plenty of other rides that are too scary or dark rides that many young children will not ride.
As far as the thought to make the benefits of the AP and the Florida Res passes equal, I wish the payment plan would be extended to others. I know several people that this option would help with buying the APs annually.
Time will tell I guess. For now I'll take a $6 increase and a bigger discount
Open an interest-bearing savings account and deposit 1/12 of the AP cost per month. Problem solved!
But I want my ticket today. I'd rather pay THEM 1/12th for 12 months and enjoy the parks now.
