January is usually a good month for direct sales of Disney Vacation Club points, and January 2019 was no different.

Since 2011, sales in January have exceeded the average monthly sales for other months by 15.2%. In addition, January has recorded increases in sales over the previous month by an average of 47.4%.

Even by those usual standards, sales in January 2019 for the 10 DVC resorts located at Walt Disney World were very strong. A total of 254,977 points were sold, the fourth highest monthly amount since July 2010 and the highest amount since July 2013. January 2019 recorded the biggest percent increase over the previous month — 81.0% — than any other month. The previous high was 79.0% in July 2013.

January also saw Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge record its best month in sales with 218,382 points sold. It is the second best monthly total for a resort, trailing only the 226,439 points sold in July 2013 for the Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

Sales were also very strong for the five DVC resorts that are set to expire in 2042. Disney's Vero Beach Resort, Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort, Disney's BoardWalk Villas, Boulder Ridge Villas, and Disney's Beach Club Villas sold a combined 7,589 points in January, the most for these resorts since 7,880 points were sold in August 2014.

Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge — With 218,382 points sold in January 20919, Disney has sold 71.1% of the Copper Creek’s 3,321,966 total points. It still has about 892,000 points that can be sold to the general public. Copper Creek is still on pace to be “sold out” within the next eight months.

Effective January 28, 2019, Disney declared 10 more vacation homes for the DVC inventory at Copper Creek. DVC members now have access to 171 of the resort’s 184 vacation homes for them to book using points. In terms of points, 92.8% of Copper Creek is now declared for the DVC. At the current rate of sales, it is quite possible that Copper Creek will be fully declared for the DVC inventory by March 2019.

The sales data includes all 10 DVC resorts at Walt Disney World, as well as Disney's Vero Beach Resort, Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort, and Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas. Point sales data is not available for the Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel. The data is compiled from deeds filed by Disney Vacation Development and recorded with the Orange County (FL) Comptroller, the Indian River County (FL) Clerk of Court, and the Beaufort County (SC) Register of Deeds.
