Disney Vacation Club's offer of a free 20 points for every 100 purchased ended as scheduled on June 15th. The new offer is similar, albeit not quite as generous with the "free" points.
New Disney Vacation Club buyers will now receive 10 additional points for every 100 purchased at Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas and Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas. Standard pricing of $135 per point for Aulani and $130 for Animal Kingdom apply to every 100 points purchased.
To illustrate, a new owner wishing to purchase 220 points at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas will pay $130 per point for 200 points. There is no up-front charge for the 20 "free" points, however the owner is responsible for annual dues on all 220 points acquired. Other charges and fees may apply.
The promotion for existing DVC members is a bit better if they are willing to pay cash for the points or put a little extra money down. Existing members who are adding to their ownership will receive the same 10 "free" points for every 100 purchased. In addition. current members will also receive 50 Developer's Points for every 100 purchased with a downpayment of 15% or more of the total purchase. Developer's Points are valid for one-time use only.
220 points at Animal Kingdom Villas will cost approximately $26,000 (200 points at $130 per point with 20 "free" points) plus additional fees and costs. With a 10% downpayment of $2,600 the buyer will receive only the 20 "free" points. However with a downpayment of $3,900 or more, the buyer will receive the 20 "free" points plus 100 Developer's Points which are valid for one use only.
Buyers are not responsible for annual dues payments on the Developer's Points. Developer's Points can only be used for reservations made 7 months prior to arrival.
Other incentives currently in place offer flat discounts of $6-12 per point depending upon resort and number of points purchased. These discounts cannot be combined with the "free points" offer.
