Just read this over at the Disney Parks blog, looks like it was just announced @ the share holder's meeting:
Breaking news…we just announced during Disney’s annual shareholders meeting that a new premium annual pass for admission to the parks at both Disneyland Resort and the Walt Disney World Resort will be offered beginning Thursday. It’s called “Disney Premier Passport” and it’ll feature the same benefits you get with the “premium” annual passes for Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts for $700, plus applicable- sales tax. So, what’s in it for you? At Walt Disney World:
Unlimited admission for a period of one year to all four Walt Disney World Theme Parks, including park hopping privileges
Complimentary subscription to Disney’s Family Fun Magazine (one per household)
If you’re already holding a Premium Annual Pass for both Resorts, you’ll automatically be issued a “Disney Premier Passport” – with an expiration date based on the later of the two annual passes. You may also upgrade your annual or seasonal pass for one resort to a “Disney Premier Passport” for an additional fee.
The Passport will be available for sale at the Disneyland Resort box office and Walt Disney World Guest Relations windows beginning tomorrow. So, sound interesting? Let us know what you think.

Disney has formally introduced the Disney Premier Passport, a new annual pass variation which provides a year's admission to all of Disney theme parks within the United States for around $700.
By the way, I'm still trying to find out if there is any discount for DVC members.
Disney usually does not include taxes in its announced ticket prices so figure on the out-the-door cost being more than $700. Still, they're getting pretty close to my personal $600 "sweet spot." C-mon DVC!!!!
Right now we have DVC discounted WDW APs (NOT premium ones) that expire right after our Oct. DL trip. I was planning to buy 5-day DL park hoppers, which currently are $209 each online. But if I could upgrade our current APs to this new pass for the same price or less, I'll do that instead!

Just updated front page--no discounts for DVC members.
Bummer... Our posts crossed!

Annual Passholders who currently have a pass to one Disney Resort may upgrade their current pass to a Premier Passport (the passholder will be credited the difference based on the retail value of their current Annual Pass).
What do you think they consider "retail value" for upgrade purposes of the APs I bought under the DVC discount? I bought them before the August 2009 price increase but had them held at Will-Call and didn't redeem them until Oct. 23rd...

I'm looking too. But without a DVC discount, I am not sure if it will make sense for me. I have an AP that I activated in December. I'll be in DL in May, but I wonder how much the upgrade will really be. The 4 day DL pass may end up being cheaper.
