Robert Sherman has passed away. He and his brother, Richard, wrote many songs for the Disney films and Parks and they received Oscars for their work on "Mary Poppins." Mr. Sherman was 86.

I adore the music of the Sherman brothers. It was so sad that they became estranged later in life, after they created all those beautful songs. If you haven't already seen The Boys, the Sherman Brothers story, it's very well done, albeit sad because of the estrangement. It's on TV fairly often, and it's also a very cheap download on itunes.
An earlier bio, a book written by Robert when the two brothers were getting along, is very well done too imo. It's got a lot of Walt stories. The name of the book is "Walt's Time: From Before to Beyond". One anecdote I recall is that Walt LOVED the song Feed the Birds. Often when he was with The Boys (as he called them), he would simply say "play it" and that was their signal to do the song.
RIP Robert, you left quite an amazing legacy. "Man has a dream, and that's the start, he follows his dream with his mind and heart".
