First let me say to all the Electrical Parade folks who may be reading this: You certainly have every right to prefer that parade. Different strokes for different folks and all that. But for me the two don't even compare. I find Spectromagic so much more thrilling and elaborate, from the music to the floats. I get chills every time I hear the opening notes to On This Magic Night.

I hope the rumors turn out to be true, but if not I hope Spectromagic returns really, really soon.

I know people love Spectro and MSEP, but you know what would be really great? A new nighttime parade! Or even a new fireworks show!

Seriously, my first visit to WDW was in the early 90s, 20+ years ago. Guess what we saw? Spectro! When we took the Magic and Merriment tour there was some discussion about how Disney reuses the parades until they are beyond dead. It feels like WDW is due a new nighttime event, since DL Resort got World of Color and they are debuting a new nighttime event at DLRP in April.

Beth I can't disagree that a newer and even better parade would be awesome. But until that happens I'd like to see Spectromagic return.

It was nice seeing MSEP parade again since I remember it (and the dated synthesizer music!) fondly from my childhood, but I think Spectro is better. The new nightime parade and/or fireworks @ MK idea definately intriegues me though, possibly more than SM returning!

Thanks Mar, for posting this! I hope it's really coming back too. It's a great parade. It was nice to see the old school Electric Parade but I still missed Spectromagic.

    I completely agree!

As the years roll on, it's amazing how Disneyland and the international parks constantly get new fireworks, parades, and nighttime shows while WDW has literally gotten Disneyland's left overs like Block Party Bash and the Electrical Parade. Disneyland's 50th Anniversary parade was also going to be recycled for MK, but for whatever reason was canceled.

It is time for something new and BIG at WDW

I hate the fact that wdw gets recycled activities! I really do hope that spectromagic is brought back as I grew up with that parade and wish I could see it again.

I'm with you Brad. One of my earliest childhood memories was when I was 4 and watching the Spectro parade. Growing up that was one of the main details I always associated with WDW. Now that I'm grown, I've come to appreciate it more so over other parades because I feel that the floats and music are not really Disney movie themed at all, yet I think Spectro is as Disney as can be. A little confusing, but a parade filled with songs from Disney Movies and movie themed floats just don't do it for me but the design, theming and music of Spectro gets me everytime!

Spectro is likely better, but it's been great seeing MSEP, brought back great memories of my only trip to DL when I was 10. Kind of like doing CoP IMO.
