WDW Halloween Party/October MK Decorations Question

Hi - We are going to be in WDW this October. I asked MS about Halloween oriented decorations in MK in October. I was told there weren't any except during the Halloween Party. That seemed a bit odd to me. Is that correct? MK has no special decorations for all of October except during the party? Anyone know? I'd appreciate any feedback - thanks!

Not true at all. The MK will be decorated with Halloween decorations during October (actually starts the middle of September), whether you are at the party or not. There are special effects that are only visible on halloween party nights, and a parade that is only for the party. But I can promise you there are many Halloween decorations all over the MK starting mid September whether you attend the party or not.

ETA: I do love MNSSHP, but i did not attend in 2011 because I had gone too many years in a row and it really doesnt vary much from year to year (and the price really went up!). So here are some pics I took in the MK last October, NOT on a party night:









The above is just a small sample. The entrance path to the MK (before you get to the security area) will have decorations at all times from mid sept to end of October, as will most of main street USA and town square.

I had been looking forward to our first ever October trip so much and when the CM told me I was shocked. I even asked 3 times hoping he would have a different answer! lol

I couldn't see how that would possibly be practical to put them up and down - and how would they have time every time before the party? It sounded crazy.

Thanks sooo much to this site and to you both, so I can find out what really goes on. LOL

So glad I can get excited again about my first Oct trip. Woohoo!

October is a great time to go, I go every year at that time. I think you'll really enjoy it. Weather is great, crowds are low and besides the Halloween stuff at the MK, Food and Wine is going on at Epcot. What are your dates and where are you staying this October? I'll be at BWV with my two kids from October 19-28,

We will be there only 4 days post-cruise from the 11th to the 14th at BLT, though BWV is my favorite. : )

I have heard Lily Tomlin a couple of times before, but I got a first the other day. Currently my hair is longer and redder than in that pic, and i was told i looked like the comedian Kathy Griffin. Honestly I don't see either, it probably depends on how I happen to look in the picture.

Since you'll be on the cruise four days is going to fit in just great. Enjoy BLT, everyone I know who's stayed there seems to like it very much. I've toured it, but not stayed there myself. Oh well, too bad we don't intersect at WDW, hopefully we will someday. I've met so many nice folks through these boards, and some have become dear friends.

Well, since you are a BWV lover like me, you may not love BLT. The vibe at BWV is so unique. At BLT, where I stayed in 2009, I felt like it was urban Disney - not quite what I was after. You may feel the same since BWV has sooo much charm!

But BLT is home, and it does feel like home to me on another level. Nowhere to stroll around like BWV, but has some nice childhood memories for me out on the water with my dad sailing (we actually capsized! lol)

And with the "doings" at MK in October (which I now know are actually "doing" lol). I will be happy for the short walk.

We have stayed at BWV in November before for F&W and that was great, too! Love EPCOT.

Sorry we will miss you. I am looking forward to meeting up with someone from these forums someday. I hope it happens! I'll have to keep trying!

We were at WDW last August/September. The decorations appeared 'magically' on the 1st September!

I was soo excited to see them before we left!
