The tech support: Was it Disney or Air Express ?
Shutting down the network ?
Wireless routers do have a lot more overhead than hardwiring and I guess it is possible if everyone in the resort were running a wifi youter issues could develope, but the tech sounds more like an alarmist than a realist.

I brought my Airport Express router pre configured in bridge mode. At first I could not get it to connect and even had trouble getting my laptop to connect with the cable going direct from the jack on the back of the writing desk to my laptop. After a couple of calls to tech support, who were very helpful, and getting a new ethernet cable, they suggested bypassing the desk jack and plugging the ethernet cable directly into the wall jack. Then it worked great. must have been either a bad cable or the jack on the desk.
One odd thing, tho. When I mentioned to the tech support guy that I had my wireless router, he said I should not use it as it would shut down the network. huh? I questioned him on it a bit, but I got the feeling he either didn't understand what I meant or they want to discourage its use for some reason. Anyways, I promptly ignored him once I got online and we've been doing fine since friday.
