I like the little boats on Bay Lake / 7C's Lagoon.
Don't know that it's my favorite, but the most practical to the MK from any non-MK resort is the bus system.
After the above, my fav/best/fastest way is my car.

On a warm morning, I love to boat from BLT to Wilderness Lodge for breakfast at Whispering Canyon Cafe.

I generally favor the buses every time. However, there are those times, like going from DHS to BW or Epcot, that riding the boat is really the most fun way to go.

Fav mode of transporation is my feet - love to walk. A main reason for joining DVC was to stay at BC or BW so we could walk.
When we first started visiting WDW I never knew you could walk. Our 1st walking path discovery was from the TC to Poly but usually we were in moderates...so I guess you could say favorite transpo is location dependent: BLT=walking or monorail, WL/FW/P=boat and monorail, GF=monorail
. Guess you can see our least fav is the bus which puts a real hitch in our HR of AKL (taken bus to DHS because it came 1st and walked to Epcot many times) as well as SSR and OKW, all of which we enjoy.

My answer to this USED to be the Monorail. Pre-DVC I remember being thrilled when we could finally afford the Poly. We could use the resort monorail to the MK, or walk over to the TTC for the express Monorail to the MK, or the Epcot Monorail line. Now I dread the monorail, as I posted not long ago. It seems the waits are longer and longer and the breakdowns much more frequent in recent years.

I find nothing fun or magical about the buses but I have accepted them as a necessary evil. As Viking said they are the most efficient way to get to the MK from most resorts.
Like Janet (Bakerworld) I prefer walking, and that's one of the reasons I stay at BWV. When it's really hot or I am very tired I will take the boat to DHS or Epcot, but I walk at least 90% of the time. I'm not too keen on the theming of BLT but I have no doubt I'd love being able to walk to and from the MK, so someday I will book trip there.

This question is really difficult for me to answer, because it just depends on the situation because when I'm in a hurry I prefer to be in control. So that would be walking or driving. But when you drive you have to deal with trams or at MK, the monorail or ferry. I still haven't convinced myself that driving is automatically quicker.
I know I really like riding a cool (almost cold) air conditioned bus after a long hot day at the park. I'm off my feet and I finally feel cool again. And I don't have to walk again for at least 15 minutes! I also agree that there's nothing like a small ferry boat ride between CR and WL when you are going for a meal. But when returning to VWL after a day at MK, the bus is faster.
And as to the monorail, it's still a ride IMO, but I don't usually ride it when I'm in a hurry to get somewhere either.--Denise

For us it depends on where we are staying. We drive down just about every trip so most of the time we use the car or walk if we are in walking distance. However I do not mind occasionally taking the bus and still love the Monorail.
Next week we are in a Treehouse villa for 10 days so we will be driving everywhere.-Matt
