While everything I can find is rather sketchy as best at this point there is a thread on MousePlanet that has some pictures. I think the report they're citing reports that the parking lot has been obliterated by massive flooding not any of the parks themselves unlike what the person at the beginning of this thread says. Thankfully at this point no one has been reported dead.

But I am using this link to merely show you pictures and not promote their site as I am not a member of it but I do follow them on FB and Twitter. Hopefully we'll know more soon.

I was just watching some of the earthquake/tsumani coverage on CNN, quite scary....My heart goes out to everyone involved.

I got engaged at WDW 1/24/10

TimK started a thread on the main DVC News page. I would think the two threads should be merged. Thanks.

Are you referring to the thread about Hawaii? Since this one is about Japan I am going to leave them separate, although I can see the similarities. Thanks!

Agreed, but the effect in Tokyo may be different than what happens in Hawaii, so I am going to leave it alone and let folks post where they wish. It's not exactly the same or I would happily merge the two threads.

There hasn't been a lot of details regarding Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea, but I've seen photos of water in the parking lot at Tokyo Disneyland and guests sitting outside in the open areas.

    Here's a article I thought was interesting. http://showbizandstyle.inquirer.net/...on-after-quake

Tokyo Disneyland hit by 'liquefaction' after quake

    Agence France-Presse
    First Posted 17:22:00 03/11/2011

TOKYO - The car park at Tokyo Disneyland was drenched with water-logged segments from the ground following the 8.9-magnitude earthquake that rocked Japan's Pacific coast Friday, police said.
It was earlier reported that a tsunami might have caused the inundation but police said the phenomenon was due to liquefaction of soil caused by the intense shaking of the tremor.

There were 69,000 people at the Disneyland and the adjacent Tokyo Disney Sea, built on a landfill in Tokyo Bay, when the quake occurred, a spokesman at the local Urawa police station said.
There were no injuries or property damage reported at the theme parks, he told AFP.
"The visitors have been evacuated to safe places but there are many puddles due to liquefaction around the theme parks," he said.

Since it's now 2:00 AM there do you think people are still stuck at the parks? I'm seeing on CNN on TV and other websites that people can't get home because the subways and trains are shutdown, many of the highways are elevated and they don't want cars on them because of possible after shocks. People are told to stay in their offices. Hotels in and around Tokyo are sold out because people working in Tokyo booked rooms since they can't get home. A reporter is reporting that she and her crew are trying to get up north to Sendai where the tsunami struck and is stuck in traffic. They've traveled six miles in 6 hours. I would think cars would begin to run out of gas next.

Not Disney related, but one of the clients I work closely with is in Tokyo and luckily colleges from his home office in Europe have been in touch and they are OK (as is one of his coworkers based in Japan). He reportedly did have to dive for cover during the actual quake but the building they were in remained intact. No other details other than he was supposed to fly home tomorrow (Saturday?) so that may be very interesting for him. Hopefully no aftershocks have a serious impact for him...
