After DW said she was good with it I bought us a rather pricey and somewhat early Christmas present; another 25 points @ VGC!
Tried to call my guide last night around 7 PM, got transferred to someone else since she is on a leave of absence 
with no estimated return time. So I asked the new-to me guy about getting on a waitlist for mo' points. He took all my info. (including Disney Visa # since I'm paying "cash") down. Then he called today @ 12:53 PM and I got the points! 
August UY, starting with all for 2010, $120pp ($3k for contract). Logged in to DVCMember.com a few minutes later and points were there! Now I just need to watch for the FedEx box & the Mickey & palm trees... 
I didn't explicitly ask, but I'm sure calendar 2010 dues will prorate for about 27 days. When he called back I did ask if he might be able to snag me one of the red embroidered DVC hats (baseball caps) they were giving away @ WHW not too long ago. He seemed confused by the request but said he'd look; I figured what the heck- worst that'll happen is he'll come back with a "Sorry, can't"!

Got an e-mail from 'new guide' saying he round and mailed me a red DVC hat!
Can't wait to get it, and I was surprised to get a non-boilerplate non-marketing e-mail from a DVC guide. Very cool; I've heard of others saying it happened to them but I never experienced it before!!!

OK, started looking through the paperwork. The new contract's 25 points are 0.0493% of VGC Unit # 20. That means once I close I'll own a doorknob to a Grand Villa- the one that faces the park no less- room # 4522!!!

Filing out paperwork today (using a Grand Cal pen I brought back from our Oct. 2010 stay!
DW called me a Geek, and I to that) and my red hat arrived in today's mail! Exactly the one I wanted to boot. Nothing quite like a $3k normally free WHW giveaway hat to make your day...
