So, this might seem like an odd question, but has anyone who is NOT a VGC member been able to book there? Going through the old threads, there seem to be lots of tales of woe, but not many success stories. I'm considering a 3-5 night stay in late June in a 2 bedroom, and would like to call as soon as the booking window opens. Are two bedrooms easier to get since there are more 2 bedrooms than any other type of room? Any advice is appreciated!

We would be curious on the inputs to this question as well. We currently have 7 night Sept 11 ressie at BLT and considering checking on availablity at VGC when 7 month window opens up.

I've read of people getting things at sub-7 months, so it does happen. The closer you call to the window opening the better I'm sure. I would think 2 BRs might be easier than 1 or studios since there are 46 units that could be a 2 BR but only 23 possible 1s or studios {VGC = 2 GVs, 23 ded 2BRs, and 23 lockoff 2BRs}. No specific examples at hand though... (When I stayed their last month I booked at 11 months to the day, so I'm afraid that doesn't count for either of you.) GL!

I suggest you call MS today and inquire about availability at BLT 7 months from now. This may give you some idea of what will happen when you call later in the month. It's possible school vacation might impact the end of June more than the beginning, but I don't think there's much difference.

I booked 2 studios at the 7 month window for our trip in September.

Thanks for the feedback guys! This would all be less frustrating if I had more control and could just pick a date. Unfortunately though, this is a family trip, so I need family "approval" before booking.

Booked about a month ago at VGC for studio in June. No problems at all. Had studio, 1br, and 2br available about a week after the 7 month window. Even called last week to add saturday to the booking and it was no problem at all. I have only read horror stories about not being able to book and was going to waitlist. I did have a problem trying to get a room at 2 weeks out in sept of this year. Funny thing was there was availability at the 1 month mark but my plans were not firm yet for sept. So all I can say is if you are close to the 7 month mark you should be fine except for maybe the busiest times of december.

We added a Saturday night to our June '11 trip on about 6 months notice using non VGC points. That was for a two bedroom.

Hey...I will be at VGC from June 11 till the 21st. Wanna meet up for a soda or a greet of a fellow DVC'er?
