At this point I think on board audio is pretty much standard, and it seems that they didn't do it at WDW simply because they couldn't or weren't willing to invest in a full scale refurbishment like Disneyland has gotten (twice). This is the next best thing they could do and it seems most are willing to settle with it. I'm not sure I will just yet, have to ride it first but I doubt it can compare to a true synched up soundtrack.
Already I have read reviews stating that the sound lessens and intensifies when you move away and get close to the speakers making an uneven effect.Last edited by dizfan; 09-01-2010 at 04:44 PM.

I see the same was reported here regarding the sound level.
Having just heard the music though, I think the compositions for Hong Kong, Anaheim and the other one for Paris suit the attraction better. This is just a bit too much techno.Last edited by dizfan; 09-01-2010 at 04:48 PM.

Sorry for the late reply. I found it on another Disney board. I'll see if I can find it. Am I allowed to link to other Disney boards?

I actually found it on Youtube! This was recorded directly from an audio source, not while riding the ride.

Okay, now that I've heard it I found myself wondering why anyone selected it as the music for space mountain. It's like the musician couldn't decide whether to be techno or happy. If that's the kind of music people will listen to in the future, I'm glad I live now.

Should have thought to search there, duh...
Thanks for the link!
As for the music, well, it is interesting. Actually I kinda' like it, but I will need to be on the ride to know for sure and how it fits. I like to relive the rides as I hear their music, so I can't do that with this track yet! I do like the fairly classic SM bit toward the end underneath the driving beat though. First impression is that HKDL's SM music is better (I think that is where one of my MP3s is supposedly form), but I've never been on that one so it is hard to say for sure!-Craig
