First off I'm interested to find out who the first person to respond to what movie my Title quote is from....

Anyways, we are REALLY REALLY itching for a Disney trip since our last one was this past January and we have NOTHING planned at all for future trips. I recently got a new job so vacation time is not going to happen until a year from now . BUT I was able to convince my new job that I could work 40 hrs in 4 days, 2 weeks in a row, so that I could get a Friday & Monday off and get a 4 day weekend. So we were thinking about going to Disneyland Dec 10-13. What are my chances that I can get any room whatsoever @ VGC 4 months out for that weekend on points? I'm going to give Member Services a call either later today or tomorrow but felt compelled to share that I actually may go to Disney by the end of the year and maybe someone else has tried this close for VGC and got something!!!!

I did end up calling earlier today. I was told that out of the entire month of December there is only 1 night that 1 studio is available. Unfortunately that one night does not fall on the dates we will be there. I asked about 1 bedroom villas and there are only 2 nights in December that one is avail and again they do not fall on our dates. I asked about Paradise Pier & Disneyland Hotel and she said that they have too many openings to count and that I could probably get a room at either even if I called in early December!!! So her suggestion was to go on the waitlist for VGC and if that doesn't come in by early December to then book @ either Paradise or DL Hotel. So DW & I talked about it tonight and are going to give it a shot on the waitlist. To somewhat better our chances we are going to book a night at a hotel in Downtown LA our first night there and sight-see and then drive down the next day and spend a Sat & Sun night at Disneyland. The only confusion I had was why would the Member Services CM just want me to waitlist for VGC only and not atleast book a room @ Paradise or DL Hotel? Do we have to pay a cancellation fee or trasfer fee to use points at those two hotels?

When you book a room @ Disneyland Hotel or Paradise Pier, the points become reservation points which can not be converted back to vacation points. If you were to cancel, those points could no longer be used @ DVC resorts.

Wow I didn't know that! Thanks for the info, you are most certainly a plethora of DL knowledge, we are lucky to have you here.

Well that explains it then! Thank you so much for the info. I'm going to call in today and waitlist and see where that takes us!
