My DD Becky, 25, forwarded this to me. At first, from the title, I expected an article from someone who just came back from a great trip. But it's actually about the changes that have occured at Disneyland throughout the years. There are some really good pics that accompany the article. I think most Disneyland fans would find this interesting:

InnerSpace and Pack Mules were definitely on my list! Always love to see pics of those again!

The Skyway Ride through the Matterhorn is one the things I miss the most.

My first visit to DLR was in 2005 but 1.5 items on that list hold true to WDW. I really miss the skyway ride. I also miss the alternate item, characters just walking around. It was like a Disney version of Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon. You had to remember who the characters were and what movie they were from. And the only non-masked character I ever saw walking around was Mary Poppins. I never saw any princess except in parades.

The first time we took DD to MK in Jan of 2003, that was a culture shock. That the characters has become attractions with queuing since the last time I had been there seven years before was very weird. DD was three at the time and petrified of the giant costumed characters, except for Stitch. She really wanted to see Stitch. So we get in line to see Stitch and then he changes out with a character that everyone is flipping out for. Mickey Mouse! Everyone was flipping out for him except my child, who began to wail that she wanted Stitch.

    I don't think he's considered an attraction.

I enjoyed this article. It seems like so many of the simple pleasures of the Disney Parks have disappeared.

According to the Disney Parks blog, the TTA is now renamed the TTA People Mover. Not that it matters but I never stopped calling it the People Mover.

Put me down as another happy camper that People Mover is back.

Zach I agree with you, I miss some of the simpler things too. I realize the article is about DL, but a similar one could be written about WDW. My biggest gripe is that Main Street USA has been turned into a Disney mini mall. I think it lost a lot of it's charm.

Pretty Bird I hear you loud and clear. I too preferred the random characters to the meet and greets. Too funny about your daughter not wanting to see Mickey, but that's kids for you. She was waiting for Stitch and here they come with this darn Mouse. Poor little thing. I dont see that too often btw, maybe to avoid disappointments such as your daughter had. For the most part I have noticed that when "Stitch" leaves, "Stitch" almost always comes back (or whatever character it was).
