Haven't been in for a while---chaos has reigned supreme. But I got locked in to the WDW marathon No way I'll get anywhere close to running 26.2 in prep, but I refuse to worry about it: finishing is where it's at, and if I can manage to keep from screwing up my left knee (which is a LITTLE twinge-y of late), I think all will be well. Already looking forward to spending a couple hours at Big River afterwards...

This does look fun, Rozzie! My only issue for 2010 is it is the same weekend as the Princess and my mom has already called for me to do that one (but maybe in 2011 because I can't see foing the Princess every year)

How are you feeling? Back to normal? I went out for a 2 miler today after doing yoga yesterday. I feel back to normal. Well, normal for me!
I will repeat it again, nono, you are something else ...already back to normal?!

I would like to do the Kentucky derby Marathon one year. I believe it is in May. I'll double check. That should be a good middle ground for a lot of us. Hilly I bet.

If you get the chance,Go to the New Orleans Rock And Roll Marathon Websight and check out the bling medals.

I hope everyone will have a great Thanksgiving. I am meeting up with my running coach and about 40+ runners in the am for a giant group run of 6-8 miles.

That one's on my list! I'd love to do it!!!

BTW, I am not sure everyone realizes how much of a Peacock Mr. Roz is -- he's actually our leader in 1/2 Marathon times now -- and on his first shot! Quite impressive!!!!

    Happy Thanksgiving All!!!!

Oh! Do the Derby Festival Marathon/minimarathon this coming year! That's when I'm planning on running the 1/2! The Derby is the first Sat in May, so the race is the Sat before--this coming year April 24. This will be the last year (I hope) I'll be living in Louisville, and thought it would be a good time to do it.

I hope on running it, that is, if my knee will cooperate. I got up this morning to run on the TM. I did 20 mins. I hoped to do a full 2 miles (it's funny that 5.6 mph was seeming fast to me ), and was doing good (with just some IT band tightness) until about 1.6 miles--then I started to have pain. I debated a little bit to keep trying to go the full 2 miles, but at 1.85 I decided it was more important not to push it. So, I was pain free for longer, but not the total time. And, man, I felt so-deconditioned! I was huffing and puffing at a speed that I probably could've speed walked a month or two ago.

I hope my sister will finally give me her opinion, now that I will see her face to face.

    Oh, and happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!

Sophia: “The race was underway. I start off slow. I’m cagey, like a panther, but when the time is right I pounce! The crowd is on its feet: ‘Sophia! Sophia!’ I could see the finish line; it was only 200-300 yds away. And then, it happened—what every runner dreads. I hit the wall.”

Dorothy: “Ah, ma, you ran out of steam?”

Sophia: “No, I actually hit a wall. They put up a new Wendy’s on Collins Ave.”

I did my 2 miles yesterday, was slated for 3. Everyone keeps telling running will make my body feel better, well howdy ho it did. It was a gingerly run, could only do a snail pace, like my body was trying to remember how to run. At the end I stretched and did yoga and I feel good as new. Well, until I run 3 again today LOL. My body has to get way conditioned to get caught up to my ambitions.

In other news, my mother is in town and reading all my running mags and has decided to start offering her free coaching tips!

    Happy Thanksgiving Peacocks!!!!!!!!!
