Thank you! I hope I'm not too excited to sleep tonight! This morning I woke up at 4:45 am, fell back asleep to 5:50am, and have been up since.

The pics may take a while, since we'll be moving to SSR tomorrow after the race, but we'll be at EMH at MK in the evening (it goes until 2am--but I don't know if we'll be up to staying that long), but I will surely post them--Monday I will have the day to myself, so I can be a bit more leisurely.

Looking at the news, the Race for the Cure here in Louisville just took off! It is beautiful weather for running here--a clear, cool 49 degrees. (update--15 minutes later they are saying people are still just now crossing the start line. 10,000 people!)

Sophia: “The race was underway. I start off slow. I’m cagey, like a panther, but when the time is right I pounce! The crowd is on its feet: ‘Sophia! Sophia!’ I could see the finish line; it was only 200-300 yds away. And then, it happened—what every runner dreads. I hit the wall.”

Dorothy: “Ah, ma, you ran out of steam?”

Sophia: “No, I actually hit a wall. They put up a new Wendy’s on Collins Ave.”

p.s.--Yesterday, to try and calm my nerves (I am a planner, I tell you), I practiced jogging around in my apartment picking up a cup of water as if it were a water stop. I think I figured out a good way to squeeze the top of the cup to really minimize the stream of liquid that comes out. I'm so silly.

Great planning, MM! That is how I drink on the run or fast walk too; pinching the top of the cup is perfect

Well, I don't think I only lost a day to amnesia...WHERE has October gone?
Just wanted to pop in and send luck and pixie dust to MM and all the other racers and everyone at the TOT!

Not sure what I've been doing but I know I haven' t been running OR walking. Not only did I lose out on the banking of my DVC points, but also my two Puerto Vallarta timeshares...ARGH. I've had to join II so that I can bank there (not DVC but the others). These simple things sure can get complicated sometimes.

Another Peacock member has a big race. And when I say big, I mean B-I-G. 18 big ones to be exact. Yep Speed Peacock (also known as nono) as a 18 mile race tomorrow. Whooooweee! Best of luck Nono, I know you will shine as always.
