Happy Birthday Brad & Rozzie!

(In other news, I am no longer running the Wildwood Half. I downgraded to the 8K today...this continued leg tightness I have is just not getting loose enough to let me add miles. But I know a can get 5 miles in....so hey maybe no one will be in my age group....LOL)

Nono, hang in there! There are certainly a lot more races in your future.

Thanks everyone for the bday wishes, Mr Roz surprised me last night and is got all day Sat and Sun off. A rare treat. I went to the gym this morning and did a killer spin bike workout (ankle sprained, no running for 3 days), lunch at one of our favorite fresh mom and pop seafood places, then we went to the Outlets where I overspent. Home now and relaxing with foot up. About to begin Pride and Prejudice, I watch it every year on my bday or that week at least. My geekiefied tradition.

I'm hoping no one signs up for the 8K! I'm really OK with it. Having an injury where I can go 5-6 miles is NOTHING! It's all good.

I'm very excited to see everyone in a couple weeks!!!!

Oh, and Roz, Mr. Nono and I were devising a plan to "swing by" and see you guys if things get slow here...

That's great Diz! I'm sorry to hear about the car but am glad you are OK. Happy belated birthday!!!

Roz- Another Happy B-Day wish to you!
Sorry your ankle is still causing trouble but glad you got in a good workout and are having a good weekend. Keep it up!

nono- Bummer on downgrading but I'm glad you're still able to play and are taking it in stride.

Out with my game night group now; my turn will come around again soon I'm sure...
Earlier today I went to a local non-chain (2 location) running store and was taught a lacing change & bought some new insoles fro my Brooks Defiance 5 shoes (last week my left foot felt great in them but right heel seemed wobbly) and ordered a pair of Glycerin 10 (they didn't stock 11.5 wide but I kinda' liked 11.5 D...). Why shoe changes? I don't think I mentioned it before but Tuesday I got some sharp ankle pain while on the mill while in one pair of my Adrenaline 12s; that also happened in my other pair just a few weeks before Mickey, despite both being low on miles. Therefore I've decided to sideline both. Back in the spring my physical therapist didn't really see me pronating, and on the mill sometimes I feel like I'm supinating so I'm experimenting with neutral shoes. I hate to make changes 3 weeks before the half, but something causing pain made me decide not to keep letting it happen. So I put in about 3.5 miles in the modified Def 5s; I think the changes helped the right but I liked the left better last week; so next time I wear them I think I will go factory insole & only front eyelet lacing on the left & use the rear eyelet loop style and use the new orange Superfeet insole on the right. That isn't the normal recommendation, but since when have I been normal???

ANYWAY, today I hit a 100 day streak if I'm not mistaken. Less than 3 weeks until I head to the Land, so life is looking up for me.

Good luck & best wishes to all the Peacocks & thread visitors!

Following an awesome (for me; definately not nono fast! ) swim yesterday I knocked out 32 min. on the ellip today, brining the streak to 102 days.

My big question; can I count park walking @ DL as daily exercise for streak purposes? I think that is fair. What about touring the Disney exhibit (& others) @ the Reagan Libbrary Sat. the 1st? I want to take it relatively easy (thus no Disney parks!) being the day before the half, but that is only about 15 min from BIL we are visitng that day & will give us something to do as a group that he's interested in- therefore I bought us tix. Soooo, does 2.5 museum hours consisting of mostly walking tours (I think) = at least 20 min of exercise per day for my streak?

DG, I'm jealous you all are getting up to the museum! We couldn't justify renting a car just to do that.

nono, I'm sad to not have a running buddy for wildwood, but I know you're making the best decision for you!

As for me, my running is going. I missed a workout on Saturday thanks to a really nasty stomach bug. It kept me from a bunch of fun stuff this weekend (birthday party and spectating at Noel's tri).

CN- Sorry to hear about the bug! If it wouldn't be painful I'll fill you in on the exhiit at lunch Monday though.

I think I may give myself streak credit for 9/1 as long as I hit 10k steps on my fitbit (pedomiter). That seems reasonably, right?

Yes, I'm sorry about that. Today, just trying some speedwork, I'm having more issues than I thought with my leg/hip. I'll be able to run the 8k...don't know if I'll be able to race it. There's time for a miracle!!!
