Well that's a big plus! I hope that trip comes through and you enjoy your solo cruise!
What "rain gear" do you need? Waterproof watch or GPS and some shoes that will out seem like plenty to me; all my other stuff is washable. True, runs in nasty weather aren't always fun, but they DO build character!
Cyl- Sorry the race was such a downer, but I hope the clothing change is working...
So I'm eating breakfast and catching up on posts, but almost time to toss on my number and head to the start!

Well I finally found you and this thread. I need to still look for those other two men you mentioned was their first half marathon also. I keep looking at the Disney Marathon Medal for the full Marathon and am getting a bit Medal Envy. lol

Gil (Gear67) - go ahead and ask whatever training questions you have to the whole group (just post them in this thread). People will chime in with their thoughts.
DG - congrats again on Coast to Coast - and on a great DL half!“To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did.” ~Unknown

Well, I'm home from DL, but I don't think I've come down from my pixie dust high! After my horrible race in Wildwood, I wasn't sure what to expect in DL. So I just went out and ran how I felt and to my surprise, what felt good was a pretty fast pace below 9mm. I decided to ride it and see how the run went. By the time I hit the 10k mark in around 56 minutes, I thought I could PR. When I hit the 15k mark at about 1:20 I thought I could maybe squeeze in under 2 hours. I was ecstatic. Most of you who have been around here a while know that breaking the 2 hour mark in the half marathon has been an ongoing goal for me. When I got within view of the finish line, I was just in shock. Mile 13 was a bit tough for me, but I did it. 1.57 and change. I think I've been walking around on cloud 9 ever since!!
Beth--I love weather so much, they call me the cloudnut :-D
