Hi all!
Sorry I disappeared for a week plus; looks like the last post I read was 18847 on page 1845...Short version: we put the new laminate floor in the guest room because E's parents came in to visit for the 4th of July -and- I was busy planning and doing a fireworks show w/ music for the 4th (but the rain caused over half to not light and a brownout stopped my CD a few minutes in
) -and- things are picking up for the show I'm doing lights for that opens on Friday the 13th. Toss in work and maintaining my exercise streak [now at 65 days!
] and life been, in a word, CRAZY!
Oh, I was also making ressies for DL since the half trip is now under 2 months away...
Original plan for today was 11 miles, theoretically all outside. Actual? Well, the 100+ degree heat index drove me inside after 3.44 miles. BUT, I got in 7.601 miles on the mill, so my total distance was met.I took less than 10 minutes to switch from outside to mill, so I think that counts as a continuous workout.
Something else good- my stomach did will with 16 oz. of milk, a mug of green tea, a Nutri-Grain bar & a Fiber One bar. My race day replicatable breakfast strategy is shaping up nicely so far!
Time to grab a late lunch, shower, and go do my hang and focus for The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Hopefully I won't be such a stranger starting soon!!!![]()

Went out today for a 3 mile run... something like fartlek/interval running. I did sprinting for 20-30 seconds, then walk, then jag and then do it over. So I did that 5 times! Took me 40 minutes though. Lol!
I dont know if I should be training a different way but when I train I usually run 200 steps and then walk 50-100 depending on how I feel. I don't do it by run 2 minutes walk 1 minute... Anyone have some tips as I think I might be going about this a little wierd or maybe im just confusing myself. the reason I ask this is because I was reading jeff galloways training schedule and It says that if I run a 2/1 ratio I should be doing 12:30min/mi so would I be going.slower?

I'm alive. Had a fantastic week of vacation at our beach house in Delaware. The whole family and some of our good friends were there, so it was like a big nonstop beach party :-) Despite the high heat, I kept up with my training, although I did cave and do my LR yesterday on the TM. I had a 5k on Saturday morning that nearly killed me, and I didn't think my body could handle 9 miles in a 90 degree heat index at 6am. Despite the 5k nearly killing me, I placed 2nd in my age group, and third in my age group at the 5k the week before. So I'm pretty happy

We also entered our local July 4th parade and won first place!Beth--I love weather so much, they call me the cloudnut :-D

Now for some shameless self promotion...
Here's our tribute to all countries, but mostly America. The Broadkill Beach July 4th parade. Look for our band (The BBC Marching Fly Band) and our float about 2.45 in!

I wish we had that... I dont know of any "town" around me and if we had a town around me it would probably be a 1+hr drive! Maybe even more. When I went to pensacola to apply to their fire dept I fell in love with their city. Had the city and town feeling at the same time and if anything I could drive 45mins away to mobile, Alabama. Lol

I do envy you living in the Baltimore area. Don't know why but i do love it. Hopefully going to get to an O's game in early september. I do enjoy where we live though small town of about 30k but NYC is about an hour and a half train ride away if you want that big city stuff.
Diz- You are a braver man then I, I don't think I could take Miami. I'm too much a New Englander for southern Florida. Though I badly want to visit the keys.My Upcoming Trips
