Look what I can do! (Crafts Thread)

I don't know if anyone else enjoys making things, but I really love crafting. I especially love making gifts for others at Christmas. So, in celebration of the holiday season, I thought I would start a thread where we could share things we create!

Okay, I have three siblings--2 sisters and a brother. None of us have children, but the three of us girls have 5 dogs between us and my brother has a cat.

Here are some cat toys I've made:



The stick toy has bells, buttons, and pipe cleaner squiggles at the end of ribbons to keep the cat occupied. The crochet mice are stuffed with catnip.


For the dogs, I made a variety of quick toys out of fabric scraps:



I saw pompom toys at Target a few months ago, and decided rather than pay $8 for one, it would be so easy to make.

I also tried to make Mickey squeaky toys:



But they kinda came out wonky. I'm not good a free-handing a Mickey head

This I made for a friend from college who had her second child last month. I think all babies need a little something homemade:

Then, to celebrate my first two WDW races, I made these peacock ornaments (in honor of Team Peacock) to hang on my tree.

The front of both looks the same and has the Team Peacock name:



On the back, I wrote the race, date, and my time (I wanted to explain since it's hard to see; it's also difficult to write free-hand on a curved surface, so forgive my chicken scratch).

That way it appears the pinecone that smells like cinnamon with the red ribbon on it came from Macy's and not your basement or garage.

I suppose that is sort-of a crafting hobby, though it seems to me likely not quite what MM had in mind...

MM- love the Mickeys- our Izzy wouldn't care, she'd happily shred them no matter what the cost! (It is her mission in life [when not begging for human food] to rip squeakers out of toys, then be all disappointed when they won't squeak anymore...)

Viking--I've seen those tags (my youngest sister has even made some, I think). I know the personalized tags like those that go in clothes have been around for a while. I'm just too cheap to use them .

DG--I feel the same way. I've been squeaking them for my 2 dogs, and Linus goes crazy! I'm hoping the one made from old blue jeans will last longer than a few hours, but I don't have much faith in the fleece one. Linus is good about playing with toys, while Lucy seems determined to destroy them as fast as she can. It's so funny--she'll look up with stuffing hanging out of her mouth with this expression of, "I'm not doing anything wrong."
