Has anyone ever been to an event at the Amway arena in Orlando? During our January WDW vacation, the Celtics are playing the Magic and we would love to go see them! We dont normally rent a car..Checked mapquest, it's a 33 minute drive to the area...Taxi's would be a fortune...Any suggestions? Rent a car for the day? Is it worth it? Where would we do that, since we'll already be @ WDW?

    TIA.

I got engaged at WDW 1/24/10

Sorry wish I could help. Still trying to wrap my mind around the fact there is a arena named after Amway.

Looks pretty simple to get to from WDW area.

Take I-4 East to exit 83B.

Take ramp down to W. Amelia Street.

Make a left, go back under I-4. The areana is maye 1/4 mile from I-4.

Looks like parking is off of Livingston. Soon as I went under I-4 I'd make the first left onto Hughey Ave and the second right onto Livingston.

I'm sure there are signs directing to parking on Amelia.

I'd price a daily rental rather than a cab.

Jenn - I got a 24 hour rental for $38 from Dollar last week. (Less than it costs to take a cab to teh Shrine by the outlet mall) Dollar is in the Regal Sun Resort, just across teh street from teh MArketplace in DtD. A very easy walk.

I'm a little surprised that the tickets are not on sale yet. I took a look and saw that they are set for pre-sale at the end of this month. There is probably a high demand for these considering it is a rematch of the '09 East Semi-Finals. If you don't want to wait for the pre-sale to go off there are about 50 auctions on ebay right now for that game.

Jenn - WHOever sells the tix likely has a mailing list that will notify you when they go on sale. You may want to gete on that.

    BTW, how's the job?
