Anyone planning on trying out this luxury hotel on their next trip to WDW?

Wraps Taken Off Disney-Area Waldorf-Astoria, Hilton

    Reported by Dave D'Marko
ORLANDO -- Two luxury hotels will open near Disney Thursday with a variety of dignitaries on hand.
The 10 a.m. ribbon cutting for the Waldorf Astoria Orlando and the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek will be attended by Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, Orange County Mayor Rich Crotty, Florida governor Charlie Christ and golf course designer Rees Jones.
Over 482 acres, the two hotels will add 1,500 luxury rooms to the Orlando area.
"Today's a historical day for us. We've been planning this opening nearly nine years for Orlando. Our guests are going to enjoy some of the wonderful amenities that currently are offered in New York at the original Waldorf Astoria, plus some extras. The golf course will be opening today, as well. Rees Jones designed (it)," said Tom Parke, director of marketing for the Waldorf Astoria.
"We have a grill and spa that will be open to the public as well as to our guests. (There are also) be in-room amenities that are endless, including flat screen televisions, surround sound, bedding that nowhere in Orlando will you see but here, and 13 dining options throughout the resort," Parke said.
If you want to stay at the resort, there are some breaks in price for the opening.
"Many people have taken advantage of our introductory pricing. We have been quietly, and with care, pricing is so that many people can enjoy both the Hilton and the Waldorf-Astoria in our first days of opening," Parke said.
The choice of Oct. 1 for opening day was not random. On Oct. 1, 1931, the original Waldorf Astoria in New York City opened, and on Oct. 1, 1971, Disney World opened.
Both hotels are offering introductory rates for the grand opening starting at $199 a night. Golf packages are available for $329 a night at the Waldorf Astoria and $299 a night at the Hilton.
    Hotels Good For Orlando

The two new hotels are great for tourists, but it has also been great for the Orlando area. First came all the jobs that came with the construction, and then 750 people were employed to run the hotels. Peter Kacher, managing director of the Waldorf Astoria said there are still some job opportunities. To apply go to HiltonFamily.jobs.

Seems like that's a pretty good deal for the Waldorf.

What I want to know is when is the pet resort at Bonnet Creek going to be built/opened???
Sophia: “The race was underway. I start off slow. I’m cagey, like a panther, but when the time is right I pounce! The crowd is on its feet: ‘Sophia! Sophia!’ I could see the finish line; it was only 200-300 yds away. And then, it happened—what every runner dreads. I hit the wall.”

Dorothy: “Ah, ma, you ran out of steam?”

Sophia: “No, I actually hit a wall. They put up a new Wendy’s on Collins Ave.”
