I've heard that the Top of the World Lounge at BLT is for DVC members only. Has anyone heard if this is DVC members staying at BLT only or if ANY DVC member can access it when it's open?

I believe that it is only for DVC Members staying at BLT only.

If you watch the Walk through video that got posted it shows a card access for members only. I'm sure it will be keyed to you room so you would have to be staying there.
What I'm not sure on is can you take a guest up for a drink?
    Guess we will see.

Went to dvc.com and here is what is stated about the Top of the World Lounge:
"Top of the World Lounge is a 77-seat full-service bar offering beverages and light appetizers, and is located on the 16th floor of Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort. Next to the lounge is an observation deck offering unparalleled views of Magic Kingdom® Park. The regular operating hours for the lounge and deck are from 5:00 p.m.-midnight daily (operating hours, access guidelines, and menu are subject to change without notice).

Due to anticipated high demand for this location, access is available only to Disney Vacation Club Members who are staying at Bay Lake Tower using their Membership (Vacation Points or cash), guests staying in the room with that Member, and guests who are staying in a room reserved by a DVC Member with Vacation Points. Access is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis."

I'm sure once BLT opens, the hours and rules of use for the lounge will be modified according to the demand.
Can't wait for my first up there!

Thanks for posting that; I hadn't seen it before! I wonder what policy will be in effect when I'm there right after Thanksgiving... At any rate, although not typically much of a bar person I can't wait to give it a look!

I'm hoping this September to sneak up to the Top Of the World Lounge to shoot some pictures. As far as the views go, my preference would be the Bay Lake view. The Magic Kindgom view looks nice, but the parking lot below kind of spoils it for me. Then again I'd be at WDW, so what's there to complain about.

    Me too.

Perhaps I'm being a bit negative. But it's really is a 'parking lot view' with the Magic Kingdom in the background.
Only reason I complain is the very high number of points needed for the MK view villa. Seems steep to me for what you're getting.
Of course, if people are willing to ante up, why not charge a lot?
