    I agree.

Call me a prude or old fashioned, but I just can't see past that pedo issue.

Cardaway I agree, it's time to change HISTA, but I sure hope it's for something new and exciting, not the return of MJ.

I am glad not to be alone in my aversion to Mr. Jackson. I know people will claim that he was never convicted of anything, and they are correct, he wasn't. But he did pay out hush money to one kid. And he admitted in a live interview that he slept with young boys, and said he saw absolutely nothing wrong with it. Even if I give him the benefit of the doubt and believe nothing went on in bed with those boys, they truly just slept, it still gives me the creeps.

(and i know this is OT but Woody Allen has the same effect on me since he married Soon Yi, who he had raised as a daughter. Can't watch his stuff any more either).

Viking- You are "prude or old fashioned".

I wouldn't mind a short revival of Captain Eo, but I definitely would like to see something new and agree that periodic updates would be good in Epcot and any other location where all you do is watch a screen.

However, it could be interesting to see a "retro days" event (month?) at the parks bringing back old movies and perhaps signage overlays that go back to the old days in areas where it would be relatively easy / inexpensive to do. Perhaps transition from retro straight to brand spanking new every few years?

Personally I stopped letting those kind of personal issues with performers and sports figures affect me years ago. If I didn't, there would be very few things I could enjoy sports or entertainment wise anymore.

For example, Tiger Woods may be getting a lot of headlines given his profile, but he is far from alone in the sports world when it comes to infidelity.

I can overlook a host of sins.

    But some I can't.

Admittedly, I am not a Michael Jackson or Captain EO fan, but I thought I'd throw my 2 cents in.

I really hate to see this film come back. I have to ask, why this one? Why not Horizons or Mr. Toad or the original Journey Into Imagination? Why EO? My opinion is that Disney would be making a bad decision to bring back this film on so many levels.

My reason for not wanting Captain EO back has only to do with the quality of the show.
See it for yourself on Youtube.
    It's PATHETIC!!
    I mean REALLY, REALLY PATHETIC!!!!!!!
And I'm probably being too kind.

(that said, HISTA is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay outdated and has to go)

Darn, I'm usually so positive about all things Disney.

In the context that you are asking, the reason is that Disneyland was doing it first. That's the only reason that Epcot or Tokyo Disneyland are looking into it. So it's not like WDW was sitting around wondering what attraction they could bring back. There were many requests for Disneyland to revive EO, and for a long while it seemed to be the only park that was going to.

I don't know the plans for the FL or Tokyo Parks, but at Disneyland the plan was to bring it back for a year or so and then bring in a real replacement for HISTA.

It's official! HISTA is closing at Disneyland in a few weeks and Captain EO will return in February for a limited run. http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/
