New Member perks

I am a new member (Oct 08) and I have a few questions for members that purchased their intrest in DL where I purchased mine. I purchased into Animal Kingdom Lodge and was given matching insentive points, 2 annual passes to DL, and "founding member" status. My guide also told me that I would be receaving some kind of palque for joining DVC. When I asked when I would get it she told me she was not too sure when I would receave it. I recently have been looking online for any info about this plaque that I am going to get. I have found nothing. Did anyone else get this plaque. I am going to DL in 2 weeks and if I dont hear anything about it I am going to talk to my Guide. Thanks.

I am not sure I can answer you question but I am confused if you bought into AKV how could you be a founding member? I bought into in Aug. and got a tote bag, a cool tote bag!!!! Is that for a founding member of GCV?? Just wondering.

Hmmm. thats kind of sad on my Guides part but thank you all for the update. This forum is great. I just need to learn how to fully use it.

Maybe information and incentives are changing often now due to the economy. Your guide may just not have been up to date. We joined at SSR in 2006 (and we love the whole concept) and got a nice tote bag that I use as a carry-on when we go to the World.

Again "WELCOME HOME" and I also love that tote bag it works miracle's and is actually very sturdy from what I thought! also those 2 pockets and the small zipper bag on the inside is very useful!

Yeah, the "Founding Member" perk that Matt mentions should relate to the Grand Californian.

When AKV points first went on sale in Feb 2007, the first several hundred to buy were designated Founding Members at AKV. They received a special plaque and with be otherwise commemmorated once Kidani Village opens.

This is a little different. People who bought their first points in California have an exclusive 60 day window to buy points at the Grand Californian before sales open to the general public. That purchase period is now open and runs until March 24. If you're interested in buying, call your Guide!
