AP Rates Released for Trips Up til 6/19 –
02-21-2009,08:04 AM
I always start my trips at a value on Saturday nights, and check into BWV on Sunday. WDW only had AP rates up until April for the longest time, and I have been on the lookout for AP rates for my trip in May. Well finally they have been released up until June 19.
I just saved $26/night on two rooms at Pop Century for my May trip (total of $52 saved), Woohooo Mousesavers.com!

If anyone else can profit from this here is the link:

I was waiting, too, for the ap rates to come out. Then I found (at travelzoo.com) and pretty good rate at Celebration Hotel for $109 a night, including 2 full breakfast buffets...usually $13 a piece, free valet parking and free room upgrade. They charge a $12 resort fee but with that you get free wifi and two bottles of water. Since we always rent a car, we decided to try this hotel for our first night before heading to OKW.

that is a pretty sweet deal!
hey what do you all think I am staying from may 3-10 on developer points that will expire in Oct 09, I know that I will most likely not go again and lose the points. i know that the point cost for weekends are more so i could stay in a value or something cheaper. but is it worth risking me losing the points or should I just lose them I will have 22 points left for use after I go for the week in may. what do you all think?

At 109/night off site vs 64/night onsite I still prefer the latter deal. I like the perks of staying on property, and since I don't rent a car the valet parking doesn't make a difference. I am not one who likes/wants/needs big breakfasts, gimme a muffin and some juice and I am on my way!
About the only thing I think I'd appreciate is the free room upgrade, although that depends what the actual "upgrade" is. Is the $12 fee per night or per trip? If it's per night then the water and the wifi is not really "free".
If you get free water/wifi for a number of days but only pay the one $12 fee, then yeah, that is truly a bonus. Still, when all is said and done the difference between the AP rate at pop and the room you mentioned offsite is $45/night, that can buy a lot of water/wifi/muffins. Just MHO.

Diz - if you can't use your points, try to rent them out before losing them. Then you can use the extra couple hundred dollars during your trip.
The best scenario would be to squeeze in another trip.

I clicked on mar's link and what caught my eye was this:

Veterans
Shades of Green offers a “Salute to Our Veterans” Program, which is designed to give ALL military veterans who served less than 20 years and received an honorable discharge (verified by current DD-214), the opportunity to vacation at Shades of Green during the months of January and September only. (If you are a 100% disabled veteran, see above.) The veterans rate is similar to the rate they charge retired military. Find out more at www.shadesofgreenvets.org. Thanks to Megan F for info.
SOG Overflow Rates
If the Shades of Green rooms are full, you can book excellent "overflow" rates at selected Disney resorts. "Overflow" rates are standardized and not tied to rank. Discounts can be up to 40% off rack rates. For more info on SOG "overflow" rates call SOG at (888) 593-2242.

We visited and ate at SoG a year ago and thought it would be a great place to stay. Check out their restaurants at Deb Wills menu site: The prices are great.

No. we've never stayed there, so we looking forward to trying something different. I'm really very excited about our 1 night stay there.
I understand what you're saying, Mar, but we've stayed at Pop so many times, we just thought it'd be fun to go outside the box. Besides, Celebration Hotel sounds so romantic and Tom and I will be celebrating our 36th Anniversary. It will be nice to have one romantic, quiet evening before our Disney adventure.PAM
