DS was a CM at DL for a summer a few years ago, and his favorite place to eat was Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen (when he could afford it!) For CS, I loved the place in Frontierland with the covered wooden porch by the water (sorry, I forgot the name).

    Let me second Ralph Brennans!
    Great value during the day!
    Great atmosphere in the evening!

Taste Pilots Grill and Pacific Wharf Cafe at DCA are usually good. And (if it's open) the Hungry Bear Restaurant and River Belle Terrace at Disneyland. In fact, River Belle Terrace serves breakfast and you can sit outside and watch Rivers of America.

The Hungry Bear! I think that's the one I was thinking of in Frontierland. I loved the atmosphere. I remember reading somewhere that after you got your food, go downstairs to the lower level and watch out on the water. So peaceful, not as many people downstairs.

Pick up a Portable Perks when you arrive. If you don't get it when you check in, you can visit any DVC kiosk and get one. It will show you where you get DVC discounts.

My BFF and I are headed to DL to celebrate my bday from 11/16-11/19. Today was 60 days out, so I just booked Napa Rose for 11/17. Tomorrow I will be booking Blue Bayou for my birthday dinner on 11/18. It's weird not to get a confirmation number, I didn't realize Disneyland does not give out ressie #'s for dining! I guess I have to trust that I am in the system, but it's a bit disconcerting.

That's awesome, Mar! You'll love the Napa Rose. Our favorite server's name is Saucy (really!). He's very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. If you're at all a foodie, you might want to consider trying the Chef's Counter where you get to watch the action in the open kitchen. You'll need to contact Napa Rose directly to make this request (714-300-7170). Ask for seats 5-8 (the right side counter) and you'll be in front of the meat and dessert stations which we thought were more interesting than the left side which overlooks the salad station. If you like, the kitchen can completely customize a menu for your party for the same price as the Vintner's Menu, but each of you will get a different item for each course. DH and I always do that so that we can try twice as many dishes!

At the Blue Bayou, request a water-side table when you get to the podium. It may take a little longer but it's worth the wait!

As for the Priority Seating reservation, don't worry you're in the system.

Very great advice, I had no idea about requesting tables to watch the preparation, I love that stuff! I will ask my friend if she'd like to do it, and unless she objects I will call and request it for sure. Custom menu sounds pretty neat too...I will have to look into that as well.

Absolutely going to ask for the waterside table, thanks!
