Disneyland '09 Trip Report, Part 3 –
01-27-2009,04:10 PM
Day 3: Friday 1/23
Rain. We hit the MK at opening, and rode the dark rides again. Twice. The park was empty, as it was pouring. We rode Pirates, and then decided to do Splash Mountain, as we had skipped it the last trip, due to the fact that it soaks guests. We figured it didn't matter at this point, but, sadly, it was down.
We did some shopping, then rode the train.

We ate at Taste Pilots in California Adventure, (best onion rings anywhere) and decided to go back and nap.
When woke up, we went back to CA, rode Tower of Terror, and went back to the MK to do The Tiki Room.

Afterwards we headed of to New Orleans Square to see Fantasmic.
I thought Fantasmic was fantastic, They utilize the small space they have by using the Columbia and the Mark Twain. Excellent. And I still maintain the popcorn in Disneyland is the best.

Dinner was a couple of hot dogs at Coca Cola Corner.

Sophia: “The race was underway. I start off slow. I’m cagey, like a panther, but when the time is right I pounce! The crowd is on its feet: ‘Sophia! Sophia!’ I could see the finish line; it was only 200-300 yds away. And then, it happened—what every runner dreads. I hit the wall.”
Dorothy: “Ah, ma, you ran out of steam?”
Sophia: “No, I actually hit a wall. They put up a new Wendy’s on Collins Ave.”

To me, that's the whole point in riding the train. And also to be able to go inside Splash Mtn. and see all the soaked riders!
