Yea! Disneyland trip report with pictures!
Did you get to try the real Dole whip float? (I really think the stuff sold at WDW is just a poor imitation.)
Does the Disneyland Hotel still have the fountain show at night?
Can't wait to hear more!![]()

Disneyland '09 Trip Report, Part 1 –
01-27-2009,03:27 PM
Day 1: Wednesday 1/21
We arrived at the Disneyland Hotel around 11AM, and were pleasantly surprised to find we had been upgraded to a Downtown Disney view.

Also, and better yet, our room was ready! So we unpacked, and headed to The Magic Kingdom.
Just as we walked in, Mickey walked by, and we got a pick with the Main Mouse himself.

Then it was off to ride The Jungle Cruise.
After that we had lunch at the Bengal BarBQ. Very good, especially love the asparagus wrapped in bacon.
Then off to Tom Sawyer's Island. Then Big Thunder. We did the walk through of Sleeping Beauty Castle, which has just recently reopened,
telling the story of Sleeping Beauty. Neat effects. We then went back to the room. Barbie took a nap, and I headed of to the Grand Californian's
pool, as the DL Hotel pool was closed for refurbishment. I got a few looks walking through Downtown Disney with my swim trunks on, as it was
only about 65 degrees out. I met a great couple at the pool, and wound up talking with them for a couple of hours.
When I got back to the room, Barbie was still sleeping, so I woke her up, and dragged her over to California Adventure to see the Pixar Parade.

Great parade, then we had a ride on Soarin'.
Then, Tower of Terror.

What a blast, we had a very rowdy group on our elevator, and it seemed that the ride sequence we had dropped us 5 times!

We then took a slow walk back to the room through Downtown Disney.

Sophia: “The race was underway. I start off slow. I’m cagey, like a panther, but when the time is right I pounce! The crowd is on its feet: ‘Sophia! Sophia!’ I could see the finish line; it was only 200-300 yds away. And then, it happened—what every runner dreads. I hit the wall.”
Dorothy: “Ah, ma, you ran out of steam?”
Sophia: “No, I actually hit a wall. They put up a new Wendy’s on Collins Ave.”

Super report and pics nick, loving it!
MM I remember that show well, my room faced the falls and I watched it mulitple times in 2002. Very well done, great music and water/lights. I love the theme from teh American Adventure (Golden Dream), and I particularly liked that they included it.
Off to read part two!
