I've eaten at most of the signature resturaunts over the years. Yes, we definitely have a favorite-Artist Point. We've celebrated so many anniversaries there, and the service, food, and atmosphere have always been excellent. Our recent 30th anniversary experience was something I'll never forget.
What's the very first resturant at WDW that you remember eating at? Have you returned? Why or why not?

I'm no longer as fond of Le Cellier at the Canada Pavilion as I once was. We have been making ADRs for our two WDW trips we have planned for this year, and not once have we thought about making an ADR for Le Cellier. The last time we ate at Le Cellier was in October 2010 before it was elevated to Signature status. I thought the food was OK, but I was less than impressed with the ambiance. I felt the tables were too close to one another, making me feel that I was having my dinner with the people sitting right next to me. The service wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything special. I thought our waiter wanted to quickly take our order so he could move on to the next table. Compare that to the service at Artist Point, a Signature restaurant at Wilderness Lodge. The dining room is large and spacious and I don't have the feeling that people at the next table are listening to my conversation. Our waiter spent time talking with us, not only about the menu, but also about how our day was going and offering suggestions on how we could enjoy our stay even more. Perhaps Le Cellier has changed now that it is a Signature class restaurant, but it is [was?] a step below Artist Point.
Speaking of Signature restaurants: Do you ever eat at Signature restaurants? If so, do you have a favorite?

Our first place we ate was at Cinderella's Castle and we returned every year until they turned it into a character event. I love that place - we celebrated our DS 12 and younger DD 16 birthdays there at their request. That place and the Hoop-de-do was always at their requests.
What place does the decor bother you? (The waiting area for Coral Reef reminds me of a pool locker.)

The decor at the Wave Restaurant. The bar area is themed nicely and then the restaurant is just 1960's boring.

I wouldn't go for less than 4 days.

Surprising my father for his 70th birthday by having the entire family show up at Disney for a long weekend.

Started visiting WDW in 1977 and we just went outside the parks for the 1st time in August 2011 to visit Harry Potter's village at Universal. For a maiden voyage it was pretty impressive, even in 98 degree heat. It convinced DH that we could use OKW or SSR as a base point to investigate the Orlando area.
DVC has inspired us to many 'firsts' that we never took the time to experience during our previous trips - has this been your experience?

Yes. The main thing I have changed is that I don't do commando trips any longer. I look more for the little details and special things (such as Hidden Mickeys). I don't feel the need to ride EVERYTHING each trip, there is always next time.
Other than strolling around one of the theme parks, what's your favorite place to take a leisurely walk at WDW?
