All WDW FL + HHI (not sure what that # is...) with very distant plans for DL - Aulani too far for us (maybe the 'kids' will use it when we're no longer able to travel).

Do contract end dates influence you in anyway??

We don't have kids and since we have both have completed our sixth decade, no not really. It's not like we'll be going to WDW in another 40 years.

Since you became a DVC member have you changed the way you vacation at WDW?

YES! We go more than once a year instead of once. We vacation ON property instead of off. We can bring family from around the country to join us. I look forward to it sooo much more bc we are staying at these beautiful hotels. It really is a dream come true!

What is your favorite view in WDW? Not necessarily from a resort room window, just your favorite place to stand and look at a view anywhere - and why?

Although we love the Savanna View at AKV, I think my favorite view is being able to see the monorails fly by BLT going to and from the Magic Kingdom. Also, it doesn't hurt knowing that in order to have that view I have to be standing on the balcony of my DVC villa at BLT!



My sister and her family just checked into Aulani today. Do you think Disney should build more DVC resorts at vacation "destinations", or should it stick to building only at Walt Disney World and Disneyland?

One of the many PLUS factors to DVC is the ability to visit destinations without additional charges - availability dependent. While we'll probably not visit HI, Japan, China, or France, it is nice to know the possibility - exists after all the future is unpredictable.

We compare all the other places we go to our DVC homes - do you? How do the other venues fare?

I do compare everywhere I go to WDW and DVC (when I had it.) since I haven't had DVC I have stayed at a lot of resorts/hotels around disney. I would say that there is only one hotel that I felt like I was staying in DVC again but without the Disney benefits or all the other benefits of staying on property, the hotel is Baymont Inn & Suites. I have stayed in many hotels but the first time I stayed at this hotel I never went to another hotel again. oh and I believe it's its a good neighbor hotel on the disney website but don't quote me on that.

Have you ever stayed in a hotel that was not DVC and was better than DVC?

I've stayed in many suites that are better than a DVC villa, except none of them have had a washer dryer and very few have more than one bathroom. And most important of all, none had the benefit of being on WDW property.

When was the last time you stayed anywhere other than your home resort?

Last time was in March, we stayed at OKW. My husband really likes to make the rounds and see what every resort has to offer. So, this was OKW's turn. Of course, great point value and he felt it had somehow a more family feel than others. I know it's WDW, and it's all family - he just felt the facilities promoted together time.

Great choice! Love the view - have experienced it myself and agree that when it is YOUR resort, it has a very special feeling : )

What is your home resort your favorite DVC resort or no?

BLT and its a toss-up between BLT and AKV. Probably BLT because of its closeness to MK and the view is spectacular at night with a Theme Park View!
