Thanks Stitch, Jen and Karen.......I felt some raindrops on my shoulders while playing tennis today, and while it wasn't much, every bit helps.

Sending prayers for your family, friends in Co Springs , Longmont and Boulder , Stitch. I'd be packing too if I still had my home...not because we have fires in Summit, but because if we did, I fear the whole of the county might burn. A neighbor said that he was told that if a house catches fire, the firemen won't try to stop it, but instead protect the surrounding houses while it burns. SCARY!

The only fireworks I thought would be ok were our Frisco fireworks that go off out in Lake Dillon. but at a meeting last night, they decided it would be best to nix these too. I can understand: one errant spark;one visitor deciding its ok to set off a sparkler........we can't even barbeque with charcoal.......BUT we will still have parades, the NRO (National Repetory Orchestra), and lots of flag waving on the fourth.

Hope everyone is doing well & enjoying the 4th.

How are things looking in Colorado, CB? We are planning to visit BIL & SIL in August in Colorado Springs. Hopefully things will be getting back to normal then. They were worried but didn't have to evacuate.

    Take care everyone!

Dropped DS off at camp this week. Please, I begged, don't break any more bones.

OK, no broken bones, just 7 stitches over the left eye.

Smart Alec said " you should see the other guy."

As with all his other breaks and bruises, this one was also self inflicted. The kid is just growing to quickly. These stitches were from a slip and fall.

He spent last week on a boat in the Chesapeake fishing and crabbing. Slipped on the deck and smacked his head. Didn't have his size 11 deck shoes on that we bought about a month ago. Claimed they feel tight. The kid is 14 years old and probably grew 6 inches since Christmas. Anyway, all was well. Had the best week. Caught too many fish to count and hauled in two bushels of crabs. His prize catch was a 30", 15lb catfish.

The camp was pretty nervous, I guess they feared a lawsuit. No need for that, we assured them.

Oh Stitch....you should write a book bout your son's 'advertures' . glad it was only Stitches, Stich!

Susan....the fires are mostly contained and now the clean up begins. Here on the 'other' side of the continental divide,
we've been getting some rain, the skies are clear of smoke, and the rivers and streams, while low, are still clear. The burn areas
have a lot of debris that has gotten into the surrounding water...and they say that will take years to clear. August is a lovely time to come to colorado and I'm sure you will enjoy yourselves!

I'm trying to motivate myself to get on with what I have to do, but I'm dallying.....miss all the nothingers tho!

Warning. Depositing $$ for the vent jar...

25 days til HHI. Maybe I'll have a working dishwasher by then.

I mean an under the counter mechanical model, not me. Heck, I'm working my tail off and washing dishes.

It's been one thing after another with the dishwasher. Parts, service calls, power issues, etc. etc. Finally bought a new one. Picked up simple Kenmore at Sears on Friday (yeah, the 13th, should have been my first clue.) Put it in on Saturday, worked like a charm. Sunday it ran through the first part of a cycle then nothing. Nada. Zip. Now it doesn't respond at all. Thing was 2 days old.

I'm typing while I'm on hold with Sears who thinks they can get a service call out next Wednesday, maybe, if they say, they can find the parts. The very polite guy on the phone says he gets 3 calls a week on this model! It's either the thermal fuse, control board or in the panel. But I shouldn't worry. Sears is going to replace all three. And this is supposed to make me happy? Three calls a week on this model?!? Sounds like everything but the main motor is going to be replaced. WTH!

Meanwhile, I'm tired of washing dishes. I'm tired of lying on the tile floor with my hands jammed under the machine. I'm tired of expensive machines that don't work.

    OK, vent over for now.

    Okay....here's the plan.

Step 1, return the new dishwasher to Sears.

Step 2, load the old one in the van.

Step 3, in 25 days drive to HHI

Step 4, right after check in, pull the Villa unit & install yours.

Step 5, next day, call Maintenance & tell them the dish washer isn't working.

Step 6, they install a new one.

Step 7, swap out the new one with their original.

Step 8,9 & 10 are pretty much self explanatory.
