Liberty Travel is listing a package deal.

    It includes:

7 nights at Pop, ( my DVC points are alreadt commited for 2009)

7 1 day, 1 park passes, ( my AP's expired at end of Oct trip, did not renew).

$200.00 Dis gift card ( if you travel before 3-29-09 and without a car, food court & CS will account for most of our food)

AND RT airfare out of Philly,( hopefully on SW and they allow me to use my FF account numbers).

    $529.00 per person.

I may have to take the plunge.

Always wanted to try the PC and AS resorts, not sure I can handle 7 nights there though.

    Any opinions ?

We took the plunge for April. Was going to Stay at the Pop but decided on POR. Skipping flying this time and going to drive.

It sounds like a great deal price-wise. I have stayed at Pop 3 times. Once for a week and the other times just for a Saturday night to avoid weekend DVC points

    Plusses:

You don't share buses with any other resorts

Rooms are clean and in good shape

Can't beat the price for staying on-site and getting all the perks

    Negatives:

No sit down restaurants (and not a particularly good food court IMHO)

    No balcony

Very LOUD Theming--it's quite cute but after a few days the bright bold colors wore on my nerves.

LOTS of folks stay there--even with buses not being shared often if you are at the busstop at park closing you have to wait for 2 or 3 busses before there is room. And if you're using DME my suggestion is one of you gets on the check in line while the other waits for baggage. Otherwise the line at check in can be really tiresome if yours is the last bag off the bus.

Mar' (Mar' does NOT rhyme with Car, it's short for Marilyn)

I'm ok with no TS restaurant, this would be an 'economy" type trip ( saving resources for 13 night shindig in June/July).

I've stayed at POFQ, CBR and Dixie and didn't miss the balcony.

Buses. That's the sticking point. I may have to splurge on a car. Maybe use ME and then rent a car ovrr at S&D for five days.

Mar pretty well summed it up. We've stayed there numerous times (to just plain save money) and we'll be staying there again in October (so will newjerseynick and dw Barbie). I still think it's a great value, though always know that it's just that....a value. Since you guys don't spend a lot of time in your room, for the price, Ken, I think you'd really find Pop Century to be just fine for your needs. Grab a standard view, as opposed to a preferred, and request rooms facing the lake. We've always gotten our request filled at Pop Century. Let me know if you need exact room numbers and actual locations!!

Ken, we'll be there Sept 30 til October 8th. Do you think you can join us?
If not those date and you're thinking of going sooner, let me know your dates (and your deal to see if we can get the same deal) and maybe Tom and I will sneak an additional trip to disney so that we can spend some time with you guys.

the possible pop trip I'm looking at would most likely be Mar 19-26. The price is for mid=week travel dates.

Go for it Ken. As Ron and I say, how bad can a room be when you are at Disney?
Next to Disney, my favorite thing to do!
