I have to admit this Event Guarantee Week is a pretty good way for runners that always do the same race year after year to insure they have a reservation at WDW without making a reservation themselves. Like all Guaranteed weeks it will cost you 10% points for the week and currently you are limited to Copper Creek Villas and Cabins, but other than that it is a cake walk to get your yearly reservation and the reservation is made before anyone else can make their reservation at the 11 month mark.

I strongly believe that anyone who is seriously considering buying a Fixed Week that coincides with one of these runDisney event should add this 'Special Event' feature to their deed. Although owners of these 'Special Event' deeds are given the opportunity to purchase run bibs to participate in the running events, there is no obligation to buy the bibs or to run in the races.

RunDisney has already announced its schedule of events for 2018 and 2019, and the Wine & Dine Half-Marathon event is during the peak DVC time when accommodations fill up very quickly. Here is what has been announced so far:

    • 2018 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend
      February 22-25, 2018
    • 2018 Star Wars Half Marathon-The Dark Side
      April 19-22, 2018

    • 2018 Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend
      November 1-4, 2018
    • 2019 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend
      January 9-13, 2019
    • 2019 Disney Princes Half Marathon Weekend
      February 21-24, 2019
    • Star Wars Half Marathon-The Dark Side
      April 4-7, 2019
