It appears to me that since DVC has lowered the minimum number of purchase points to around 50 points for new buyers many more small point contracts are being purchased, which forces the owners to only book studios even though they are a family of four or five. Since CCV has the second smallest studio at WDW, AKV-Jambo House value studios are smaller, and PVB has the largest studio at WDW, it is very hard for CCV studios to compete with PVB's. However, AKV-values are more popular than either CCV or PVB. I think the per point cost per night really is a factor with AKV-values. But the lower points for CCV doesn't seem to help the sales there compared to the higher point cost of PVB.

    Scheduled upcoming Disney trips:

11/30/17 - 12/14/17 - Bay Lake Tower at the Contemporary Resort
03/01/18 - 03/08/18 - Copper Creek at the Wilderness Lodge

As many readers know, Disney regularly reacquires points due to foreclosures, exercising its Right of First Refusal (ROFR) on third party resale transactions, and buy backs. In September 2017, it reacquired 4,137 BLT points, 2,044 VGF points, and 675 PVB points. It also reacquired points from the other Walt Disney World DVC resorts, but I only track the first three. So far, Disney has not reacquired any CCV points.

The number of points reacquired fluctuates from month to month, but September's totals are fairly representative.

For those who love delving into the minutiae of all things Disney, it appears DVC has appointed a new attorney to handle the Trustee Foreclosures (see Disney Now Bypassing Judicial System on Foreclosures). Valerie Edgecombe Brown has taken over the role of Trustee for the DVC condominium associations from Michael Hutter. Ms. Brown is based in Orlando with the law firm Manley Deas Kochalski, which is headquartered in Columbus Ohio. It appears that the Trustee auctions are still occurring in the Orlando offices of Baker Hostetler, which was Mr. Hutter's firm.

There has been an uptick in Trustee Foreclosures that have been processed since mid September 2017. VGF has already had 13 Trustee Foreclosures processed in the first two weeks of October 2017. But its too early to say whether we'll see more Trustee foreclosures now that DVC has a new Trustee.
