WDW Dark Side Half Marathon 2017
So, my daughter and I ran the Rebel Challenge last month.
And I've had it in my head that I'd like to do the Kessel Run Challenge, but there was no way my daughter could go along for it. (She's got class the next day. Running a half marathon and then flying cross country is not a good combination for being awake in class.)
After discussion, and some more thought, I'm doing it on my own. Signed up and bought plane tickets today; haven't booked rooms yet. (Probably later tonight. Cash, I don't have the points to spare.)
This was probably not the brightest move I've ever made in my life, but that's okay.

Wow, I am impressed. I'd be so jet lagged I wouldn't know which way to run. So will you be able to do the run in less than 12 parsecs? Since it is a unit of space and not time, it might fit the length of a race better.

It only feels like 12 parsecs.
I did the Light Side in 3:13:54. I'm hoping to do the Dark Side a bit faster since I won't have run a 10k the day before, and I'll know what I'm getting into a little better. (And, hopefully, I'll have been able to lose a bit more weight and train a bit better.) The plan is to get in on Friday and have Saturday to get acclimated. The time zone shift combined with the early start (they want you on the bus to the race by 3:30am) is going to be rough, though.

Forgot to follow up here - did the Dark Side in 3:14:51. Given that it was about 20 degrees warmer than Light Side, and was in the mid-to-high 70s when I finished, I was more than satisfied with that.
