I knew a while back they were requiring full names of all parties on the reservations. At that time, if a change was made, they were threatening to cancel the enitire ressie. People fought that. So now with the charge, this does not surprise me. A way to avoid cancelling the entire ressie, but punish those making the changes.

Charge for changing names on ressie? –

It's being reported elsewhere that there is a new $35 charge for changing names on a reservation. Any independent confirmation from the gang here?

It's bunk... I just called to add my Mom's name to all my existing reservations for the next year (3 of them) and there was no problem, let alone a charge. Sorry for the drill.

Thanks for clarifying.
If they did make such a change, I only hope DVC would give folks a fair heads-up before implementing. The reservation I'm holding now is for a two bedroom, but we haven't even decided who all to invite to join us yet.
There will definitely be some names added to that booking.

This sounds like rental rumors and speculation again (especially since it doesn't seem to be true).
I think either you get the names right on the reservation (with a 1 time change) OR if the member is in the party checking in makes sense. Yes - it has drawbacks, but it might help slow rentals if that is their ultimate goal.
Maybe the goal is to decrease MS calls?

It may be that a name change is defined as more than an addition but a total change. I would support a fee if the reservation name changed completely. In other words, if I book Christmas week under my name then rent on ebay it I would need change the name totally, not just add a name.
