After years of farming-out management of Walt Disney World-based spas, Disney appears poised to bring the job in-house. *

This news makes me really happy. Thanks to a Christmas gift, I did a day at the Saratoga Springs Spa last January. While the personnel were largely excellent, I didn't think the upkeep of the spa was up to the Disney standard. Indeed, I wouldn't use that spa -- which was, of course, far more expensive than my usual place -- at home, even if the cost were non-Disney prices.

I'm just curious-does anyone know which company they previously farmed it out to? I know that many cruise lines (including Princess) contract out their spa services to a company that, I think, is called Steiner. From what I undand, Steiner specializes in contracts.

I check Disney's job listings from time to time and saw they were hiring spa managers but I really didn't think about it that much.

I have been to the spa at Saratoga Springs and thought it was ok, expensive though. The cruise ships have nicer spas.

Nikki Bryant. She handled all of the hair salons at disney Owned hotels and I know handled the Spa at GF. not sure about SSR, but assume so (I have never been there). I got my hair cut at the Ivy Trellis in the GF for years until my stylist left; I went with her.

This has been in the rumor mill for quite some time, since Nikki is getting/has gotten into the spa business with Al Weiss. Although when I saw my hairdresser last month, the skutlebutt she heard was that the company who run the salons at the Swan & Dolphin (I forget which resort it's in, since I have never been in either hotel) were taking over.
