Check in moving to BLT?

I apologize if this had already been covered. I was checking in today at BLT and the CM at the Contemporary told me they will be doing check in at BLT within the next 10 days or so instead of at the Contemporary. She said they are putting in a couple terminals in right now. She said nothing about transportation (DME) stopping at Bay Lake just that they would be doing check in there. Be interested to see how this progresses.

I like the idea for sure and it would be a plus if DME stopped there as well.

This change raises a lot of questions. Do they have enough space in the BLT lobby for a check-in desk that can handle two or three CMs simultaneously? Will they have Bell Services stationed at the BLT lobby? And do they have a storeroom at BLT for Bell Services to operate out of?

If BLT has 24-hour check-in, check-out services, this will mean that administrative expenses for BLT owners will probably go up.

I have to admit that I have a few concerns like wdrl posted above. I wouldn't be too thrilled to have our dues jump a large percentage again next year. But it would be ridiculous to have to go to CR for Bell Services though.

But on the other hand, I never felt the CMs at CR were very friendly. They were more business like as you would expect at a convention hotel, surprise there, hey? So perhaps it was too confusing for the CMs. The CMs they post at BLT's lobby have always been friendly. The host/concierge CM at BLT was always great to us.

I may be deluding myself, but since BLT dues go in part to cover front desk expenses at CR HOPEFULLY any increase would be minimal.

It goes without saying that I'm curious to see what happens with this. My parents are staying at the sandwich just after Thanksgiving, so hopefully I'll have some family data I can pass on after they've had a little shake-out time should this rumor be true...

Any chance anyone is going to BLT the next few days? I'm curious to hear if the check in counters are in place and operational yet. Another forum said the change was to go into effect on August 20th.
