Major Makeover for the France Pavilion at Epcot –
08-14-2012,11:01 AM
Per the Disney Parks Blog: http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blo...+Parks+Blog%29
Not only is the Bistro de Paris Restaurant is being remodeled (and renamed), but they are building a new bakery which is being built in the theater exit area. So the current bakery will continue to be open while the new bakery is built. The new bakery will do the baking for the two french restaurants in addition for the bakery itself.
BTW, I wouldn't call this a major makeover of the entire France Pavilion but the title did get my attention when I read the Disney Parks Blog.--Denise

Great, the redoing of Bistro translates to dumbing it down, I just know it.
Sigh....It will always hold a special place in my heart as we ate there the night we got engaged, but it probably wont even resemble the way it was then
Too frou frou and not a place people wanted to bring their children, I bet was the big complaint.
On the other hand, I'm glad they're expanding the bakery and adding seating....And I read somewhere, too, there will be an ice cream parlor

I understand what you are saying about the Bistro de Paris, but I would imagine the owners are thinking that it is prime restaurant space that could be bringing the bucks from families. It's pretty obvious that it will be more casual and be appropriate to dine there in shorts with the family. What will be sad is if the menu changes to a Chefs de Frances type of food and joins the DDP. Because that means the food will definitely be less refined and more generic.
