No flash photography is the only prohibition I've seen at many attractions. I would think you could wear a GoPro camera. Although how good the photos would be I don't know. Personally I'm usually thrown all over the place when I ride either BTMRR or EE.The restraints just don't hold me in place, like the one for Rock 'n Roller coaster.

GoPro cameras on rides –

I was not sure where to post this but since this is part of my trip planning I decided to put it here, by the way 27 DAYS TO GO!!!!, Ok has anyone ever used a GoPro camera at Disney or does anybody know or think Disney would have a problem with me wearing mine on the rides. I know that they can be very lax on the no camera rules (witnessed that first have on POC last September thanks to the idiot that too 10k flash pictures and ruined the whole ride for everybody) but I didn't know if they might say something about it on the rollercoasters since it is a wearable camera.
Past Disney trips: 1982 5 days off property, 2007 6 days in vacation home, 2010 14 days at the Polynesian(10 days in the parks!), January 2011 3 days buena vista plaza. September 2011 at AKV(10th anniversary), September 2012 at BWV(11th anniversary) Future trip: July 2013 AKV 2-bedroom.

All you have to do is listen. Most shows and rides say no flash and no external lighting (grey area on whether LCD viewscreens are external lighting). And others say no photography. I go by exactly what the CM states.

I haven't checked up on it, but I think Tower of Terror is about the only attraction that is no photography or recording of any kind. I've seen other sources that I think follow rules share video from most other attractions, including coasters. Have fun!

I don't think I will have a problem with this because I can wear the camera on a chest strap so my hands will be free (Denlo I feel the same way about Rock n roller coaster, I have to hold on) plus the LCD screen is removable so I dont have to use it and the only light is a small red indicator. I sure hope to get some really good POV videos. I will post a link to my youtube page before we leave so you guys can check it for some Disney fun.

Have you shot videos before this on rides? We had no trouble shooting video on Expedition Everest and Big Thunder Mountain. Camera was out before we left either of the stations. We used a Canon ELPH that offered HD video and any part of the ride that wasn't in the dark came out great. So your videos should be amazing. Can't wait to see them.

During my visit in May I brought my ContourHD with a Flex Strap mount (http://contour.com/products/flex-strap--2) and simply strapped it around my hand (the flex strap has a rotating mount so it was easy to align the video). I got hours of video of my daughters on everything...Thunder, Splash, Everest, Tower of Terror, Dumbo, etc...even used the waterproof case and got tons of "action" videos on the waterslides at TL and BB. On a 9-day trip there was only ONE time I was asked to not use it...Soarin'. Otherwise I got a lot of "great idea" comments.
One personal opinion...you mention the chest mount...in my opinion the most interesting videos are the ones that capture the faces and reactions of the people you are traveling with. Getting standard POV videos from your chest is something you can find over and over on YouTube...but getting those videos of someone's reaction when Everest goes backwards or Tower drops...those are what makes it all worth it. That being said, you may want to consider a mount you can wear on your hand like I did (http://gopro.com/camera-mounts/hd-wr...sing/)...gives you a lot more flexibility in what you film. One of my favorite videos is my 5 year old next to me on Thunder and my 7 year old riding in the car behind us. By having the camera on my wrist, I quickly flipped back and forth to get simultaneous reactions...
Now's when I should point you to my YouTube videos...but, alas, it has been a busy Summer and I haven't had a chance to edit all the hours of footage yet!!! Once I get around to it, I'll post a link here. Good luck and let me know if you have any questions.

OK...after posting that I went and watched some of the videos from May. Good fun. So until I find time to edit the whole video together I thought I'd post an example (or two) of what they look like. This is just raw footage...I haven't edited yet...

A family ride on BTMRR with my 4 year old sitting next to me (and grandpa) and my 7 year old behind us riding with a new "best friend" she found on Tom Sawyer's Island (and her first ever time riding without Mom or Dad!!!):

Love the videos Middkid, I do have the wrist and head mount so I will be using them as well. With it being just DH and myself on this trip it might be funny to see our reactions on the rides too so good idea. I had bought the GoPro to film my daughter playing soccer since it's small and can take a beating I can attach it to the goal and catch some of her saves. Most of the time I use my DSLR and our JVC hand cam at Disney but I have never filmed on rides so I thought it would be neat to use the GoPro for that. What kind of editing software do you use?
