Interesting offer. I have to admit my first reaction was why not make the offer to all police and fireman? But after reading the article we don't really know if others are eligible.
Does anyone know if there is a minimum purchase requirement? If not, it could be a good time to add on 25 - 50 points. Although 14% off $165 per point for BLT is still pretty expensive, but at some of the other resort it might be worth it, if they are available through the offer.--Denise

being military myself i am going call them tonight to see if they will offer this also to military. i will re- post with any news about this.
UPDATE: they will not extend it to military and it's only for NY police and fire workers no other states. and i was not told why it was only NY. or if it would be extended out to other states or military.Last edited by mccurrence; 08-07-2012 at 04:17 PM.

I have faith in DVC. There must be a good reason why they are offering discounts to NYC fire and police.

Maybe they'll go state by state.

I'm not sure if it works the same way In the USA but in Canada there is a police publications/magazines that are sent out to the memberships by the association they are a part of on monthly/quarterly/etc basis....they contain stories/training tips/equipment advertising/and other sales advertising....each police officer/firefighter/or other member's monthly association dues go to funding the publications.....
Now most police agencies now a days will not accept money from large corporations because of the obvious integrity and corruption perception to the general public....instead these companies will offer discounts to the entire agencies in exchange for ad space in these publications....that way the members get some type of discount and the company gets advertising in several magazines that goes out to tens of thousands of people and no money is actually being exchanged between the company and the police/fire service......
I've heard on this site that there is a huge DVC sales center in NY which may be how the partnership got started.....other agencies may catch on but it will depend on the company and the rules with it....it's easier to have a local or state partnership than a national one....so one may be in the works for military but may be different rules and hurdles involved
