Which grocery store do you prefer near Disney? –

Normally we use garden grocer for food delivery, but next month we're going to BLT and will have access to a rental car for food shopping. If anyone has used the local grocery stores, I'd really appreciate some advice on which ones are closest and best in terms of prices and selection. My husband will also need beer/wine, but I think most grocery stores sell it anyway.
Many thanks!

I am normally not a Wal-Mart shopper but we used the one close to WDW last spring. It was far cheaper than the Publix that is closer and a lot cheaper than Michigan groceries. Not sure why it would be so much cheaper than Michigan but it was, maybe taxes or transporation costs. It was fairly new and clean and we got in and out pretty quickly. We have used the Publix before but I got the feeling it is a store geared for tourists and maybe a little higher than a normal Publix.
At least at Spring Break it was packed, even saw some people from home there.

That's very helpful to know Walmart is cheaper than Publix...exactly the kind of info I was hoping for.
I love whole foods and would love a trip there too. Decisions, decisions.
Thanks, guys!

We have tried them all -- and the one with the "mostest for the cheapest" is
WalMart .. which is about a 10 minute ride from WDW ( Saratoga and OKW ) ..
The most expensive is "Goodlings" Their prices are very high ..

It's not cheap (as nono said) but the Whole Foods on Sand Lake is very nice and has a good beer/wine selection (with normally a few good sale deals). That's where we shop...but we're also whole foods shoppers at home!

I've shopped them all. The closest is the Winn Dixie, just a few blocks west of Crossroads. If you head out Turkey Lake (it's called Palm Parkway right off 535, look for the Sheraton Hotel) you will find a new Super Wally Mart on your left. When you get to Sand Lake, Whole Foods is on your right. Make a left and you're on Sand Lake, the section known as Restaurant Row. There is a new Publix a little bit down on the left.
As for pricing, it all depends on what you are buying. Each store has something cheaper than the others. Wally Mart has terrible baked goods (I think they consider sawdust a whole grain). Publix has the largest selection of beer and wines.
As old grump said, avoid the Goodings (not certain they are even open anymore). For whatever reason, Goodings thinks they can get away with Disney prices off property.

Gopodings was still open and still overpriced when I was there in May.
I tend to use the Walmart over by the cross of535 and 536, just because its so easy to get to.
Pretty sure the one Viking info'd is newer and nicer.
One can save so much money by grocery shopping and eating some meals in and taking our own beverages to the pool. (in unbreakable containers of course!)
