It appears that Disney Vacation Development is offering the February Use Year as the default UY to new Members who do not request a specific UY. Since June 14, 2012, DVD has started drawing points from seven new AKV Units to support sales and six of the seven Units have been assigned to the February UY.

June 2012 marked a bit of a milestone for AKV. In the month, AKV finally surpassed BLT for the number of points owned by the general public. As of June 30, 2012, DVC Members own 5,514,584 points at AKV and 5,444,923 points at BLT.

It looks like July 2012 will be another good month for direct sales, particularly for AKV. Through July 10, DVC sales are on pace to top 200,000 points and AKV is on pace to reach 175,000 points.

Wil, thank you for the update.

If DVD can keep up the pace for AKV sales in the second half of 2012, it will put them at just over 1 million points left.

Seems like DVD will be in good shape when GFV sales start either late this year or early next.

If GFV has 4 million points and 1 million left for AKV at the end of 2012, either DVD needs to sell fewer WDW property points per year (charging more) or they will need to start on the next property after GFV some time next year to have points in 2015/2016 years.

It seems to be that generally the DVC sells well. Very few months do that have low sales.

So true and you can see that DVC/DVD has no incentive to lower prices because people are still buying at the higher rates. The demand is there, no matter the price.
