We will be staying at Saratoga as part of a split stay in Nov for W&D weekend. This will be our first time there. Not excited about it but will go in with eyes wide open. We do not rent a car and not a fan of any resorts far from the parks only because of location. We think all the resorts we have stayed in are all great places. We just prefer short trips to the parks--walking even better! Our second half of the trip is at VWL, one of my favorites!!!

I've never been, but I was under the impression that it always has rooms available because it is the largest resort.
From the pictures I've seen, I am sure that I would like it. The parks are so busy and I want my resort time to allow for some real relaxation.

We own at Saratoga since 2005 and have added points over the years to only that resort.
Especially like Congress-Park - since you can basically walk over to Downtown. However, variety is the "spice of life" and this time around we are staying at Old Key West ( 5-weeks ) ..
Yes, the point spread is cheaper .. and I think the units are "larger" in size.
But we have no problems with Saratoga .. ( well maybe the bus service ) ...

When we stayed at POFQ we had to do a run through Saratoga Springs one night and I was surprised at all the bus stops....Since we never have a car we rely on bus service so I could see that being an issue, especially if you are near the last stop...
Having said that it looks like a very nice resort and we will stay there some time as POFQ has special meaning to us and would love to stay at SSR and use the boat service to ride across for some "man catching beignets"

I don't know that I'd use the word "dislike". It's just the one I like the least. But it sounds different if I say that SSR is one of the best places I've ever stayed.
Yeah, there's the bus issue (which doesn't usually apply to us except when going to the MK), it's spread out and the corridors don't have doors on them. But it's VERY nice when compare to non-Disney properties.
Yeah, we stayed there when I proposed to my wife in 2009. I had the developer points from my AKL purchase. Susan loved the place - couldn't understand why I had a slight disappointment with it (there's a trip report from 2009 buried in the boards here). On one of our last days, we toured the AKL - to show her where we'd be staying the NEXT time we came to Florida (which turned out to be last December). THEN she understood what I meant.

I own at SSR and BLT and they both have things we like about them. BLT is close to the Magic Kingdom and just has a different feel than other resorts. Also the monorail is very nice. SSR feels more like a typical Florida resort with golf courses and it being so spread out. I think the pools at SSR are very nice and we loved staying at the Tree Houses. The cost of points per night is less also. I have no problem with the walking and how it is spread out. Though it could use a better store.
Now we do love Wilderness Lodge and Boardwalk, they are both great also.
I don't mind SSR at all, I do like being able to try the other resorts. IF I had to stay there everytime it might be different. Now we tend to split the vacation between SSR and BLT during busy seasons and go elsewhere when it isn't so busy.
