Among the major advantages of larger Disney Vacation Club Villas are the in-room washer and dryer. *Even Deluxe Studio guests have access to complimentary public laundry facilities. *

With airline baggage fees growing and weight limits shrinking, easy access to laundry facilities would seem to be a major advantage to staying in DVC villas. *

Topic: *Do you typically make use of the laundry facilities available to DVC members?

We do use the laundry facilities, even on the cruise ships! We love the fact that we have access since this means we only have to pack for half the days we're gone. We plan one day in the middle of our trip and throw in a few loads (1 in the morning, 1 around lunch & finish after dinner/parks) and the rest of the trip we have all clean clothes & towels again. It's a major perk for us.

We always pack light, and use the laundry halfway through our vacation. Usually we use it at night while having cocktails poolside. We have also done laundry before packing for check out, that way we have no laundry to do once home. Once we did all the bath towels, while staying at GCV, because there were 4 of us staying in a one bedroom for only a few nights, and would not be getting T&T.
We do a lot of cooking in the villas, so we use the dishwasher often also.

I love having laundry facilities in the room. It saves time and packing space. With two teen daughters wanting to bring everything in their closets so they have just the right outfit for every occasion, this helps limit their packing knowing they can wash that perfect outfit in case they need to wear it again.

Having laundry facilities available in your DVC room is one of the best features! We always pack for half of our trip. We "take a day off from the parks" every trip. This is the day we do laundry, go to the pool, head to the Marketplace and Downtown Disney. We love it!

We also try to do a small load the night before we leave. When you have the machines right there, no sense taking home a mountain of laundry to tackle when you get home!

We always take advantage of laundry in our villa. Since we are typically maximizing our vacation days from work, we consider coming home with clean laundry to be one of the best advantages of the DVC accommodations.

Having in-room laundry was one my favorite parts of staying in a villa. I love being able to throw a load of laundry in when I want and the best part is that now I get home from vacation and don't have to dread the laundry that usually awaits me! I also used the faciliteis a few times when we cruised. This way I don't panic if someone forgot to pack enough underwear or socks.

We always take advantage of the laundry facilities. We usually reserve a studio so that means the laundry room, so we don't tuck in a load here and there. We often do a couple of loads at the same time, either early in the morning or while we are at the pool. And we often go home with mainly clean clothes. We did laundry in this manner even at the Disney cash resorts, so I can't say it's because of staying in a DVC villa, it is just a way to cut down on our luggage.

Hello, I appreciate the info re: facilities. I am curious has anyone used the "public" accessible facilities in Aulani and if so how or what is the access method. What is "public" about them? Everyone one or is there a DVC only facility?
    Thanks
    Love DVC

We do the same as most here. Love to do it before we leave - that's the best.

I also like to do it almost every night - wash in the eve and dry in the am - every day just about. That way, we can wear whatever we want whenever it suits the weather.
