Just booked VGC for February the other day, I am beyond excited!
Shhhh, don't tell anyone, but I may even be more excited about Cars Land than the new Fantasyland!

This whole new area look great. We are planning a June 2013 trip to DL. We always wanted to make it out to DL and the new Cars Land expansion tipped the scales for us. Going to try VGC at 7 months or go with cash ressie.

Nick, I won't tell anyone if you don't. I am in the same boat on the new Fantasyland versus seeing Cars Land right now. With a 4 yo DS this will be awesome for him. (and me)

Now that I've ridden Radiator Springs twice, I can saw WOW! The theming, audio-animatronics, racing--everything about the ride is great! We rode it during the day and at night, and it is definitely better at night. Carsland is also great as a whole--definitely takes Disney themeing to a whole new level. I hope to write a whole trip report to cover it all, but I was impressed.

What I wasn't impressed with was how sensitive the ride seems to be. I was at DL for 5 days, and we heard about the ride going down for several LONG periods during that time, including all day on Sunday of Labor Day weekend. Also, if the ride pauses while you are on it (as it did with us during our first ride) the cars get out of sync and then you lose the "racing" element of the ride, which is really cool.

The lines were also incredibly long the entire time we were there--I don't think I ever saw the regular queue below 90 minutes, and even single riders was running about 45. We did fastpass for our first ride, and the way DCA handles the fastpass is very efficient, but I still spent about 70 minutes in line just to get the fastpass (arrived at DCA gate at 8.10, stood in line outside, at 8.30 the line was moved inside of DCA, at 9am fastpass machines were opened, about 8.15 I got three fastpasses for lunchtime). If you don't line up early for the fastpass, you WILL NOT get one. Our second ride was in the single's queue.

I'm very excited about riding Radiator Springs Racers again this Saturday.
I did get the chance to ride it several times on a solo trip a couple months ago.
But this time I'll be with my wife, sister-in-law, nephew, and a couple friends.
It'll be real fun to see their reactions.

I've been telling Tracy that it rivals (or surpasses) Harry Potter's Forbidden Journey in Orlando as the "Best Attraction in the World".
    But she doesn't believe me.
I can't wait to get her opinion.

Yes I know fellow Disney fanatics, it's almost sacreligious to consider a Universal attraction so highly.
But hey.......I'm just keeping it real.
Forbidden Journey is amazing..................almost as amazing as Radiator Springs Racers.

Jeff, I don't see any problem saying a ride on the Dark Side is better. I think most of us realize that the rides are not what Disney does best but the combo of the rides and the imagineering is what brings it all together. I think it's called --The Magic.

But as HP fan, I'm looking forward to finding the time and wherewithal to go to the Dark side one day.

    So true Denise!!
When it comes to complete "Magical" atmosphere, nobody's even close to Disney.

We had a great time at California Adventure this weekend. It's become an Amazing Place!

Tracy still thinks HP's Forbidden Journey is her favorite attraction.
However, she loved Radiator Springs Racers, as did the rest of our group.

The biggest surprise was my sister-in law's reaction.
Meg tends to be fairly negative, and didn't really react much to most of the other rides.
While on RSR, she was screaming and laughing almost the whole time, and then talked about how great it was afterwards for almost 20 minutes.
Totally out of character, I was shocked........and very pleased.

Maybe, just maybe, she's beginning to see the Magic.

We all really love the addition to DCA. Before the recent changes to DCA, we used to spend at least 3.5 days in DL an 1.5 days in DCA. Now we are spending a lot more time in DCA, almost 50/50. My boys are California Screaming and Symphony Swing addicts, and now there is a reason to be in DCA a lot more of the time.

The Racers are a lot of fun. The amount of detail through out the ride is amazing. That is the only ride were members of the family do not mind ditching each other to go in the single rider line.

My favorite ride in Cars Land is Lugi's Flying Tires.

Thanks for posting this information regarding DCA. Since we have never been to DCA we are looking forward it any advice for our October trip. We'll definitely add these rides to the schedule although I'm afraid that Symphony Swings might be more than my fear of heights can handle. Swaying in the wind high up does me in.
